A bonus day as we don't usually get anything much this time of the year. Maybe it was my new wetsuit but it didn't even feel that cold!

A couple of good gusts that I got onto right at the start had me hoping for a new 5 x 10sec PB but after that there was nothing to back it up. I think they are the quickest I have gone without weight. I put it on for the next run (42 kts) but took it off again stright away. Felt better without it and later as the wind eased it was a good decision, and my arms lated longer. We sailed 'til dark, hoping for that one last magic squall, but although we got a few white out rain storms, there wasn't much wind in them. Most of the day the wind was around 25kts. Might have got close to 30 briefly in a few rain storms but they were very hard to hook on to.

I did one NM attempt from the boat hole bouy to the end of the speed run so we had something to back up Spotty's NM. Hopefully it will improve our position.

Good to see all the guys out today for a rare winter sail!

Had a nice sail with the crew at Inverloch doing the speed clinic. Wind was too wsw for us to get great speeds,arms were a bit tired too.All done with the AB and Ka 6.6. Nice speeds Daffy

Day of patience trying to get decent squalls. First Run went for NM on the Kcpt5.8 Kode112 LE36, timed well with a squall with a 41.5 peak, but the chop at the end had the last laugh throwing me off.  Yep you need a 45 46 peak just to get a 35 NM here, a fair challenge. Rest of session on CA44 and latter on the Demo CA50, (thanks Daffy) both producing 45 peaks.

This Speed sailing gig can be tough and today I was crap at it. I would like to blame my Flu or the pharmacy full of drugs I took to get through ( didn,t anyone else see the pink dolphins???) but the fact is on a squally day like today you have to pick the gusts and I didn't. I managed to get onto 2 for the day, the first a complete white out rain squall, so I plodded down not being able to see a thing and the second (which was going to be the run of the day) I managed to get hooked by a fisherman, he was beyond the dunes on the speed course and his line hooked me half way up the mast., D...head. Took me 5 minutes to get the hook and sinker from around my boom and I missed the run of the day.

I took the big OES Slalom board I designed for a run when I was tired of waiting for gusts. Pretty happy to get it to 37 knots. Not bad for a 69 cm board with a 38 cm fin. It can go faster too as I was completely knackered when I took it for a spin. It felt great!!!

was cold, raining and sheets of sand flying - just the usual for a decent sail at the PiT. very enjoyable.

tried the KA 21 assy for the first time - thanks shelby. gave the missile s a new lease of life. what is usually a flighty board using the tectonics 21 with the nose creeping quite high at the fastest part of the course, it was flat and rock solid. must get myself one!!
