The weather forecast turned out to be wrong...Clouds, rain and gusty bura with a lot of holes.
First start of Shimuni Extreme One Hour Slalom cam esuddenly in the morning while most of the sailors were still on the shore..
So most of us ran down to the beach and started with some 2-5 minutes delay, had a nice run to the first mark with gusts up to 35 kts. On the way to the mark the wind weered from NE to N so we came to the mark practicly downwind and had to beat back to the starting mark.
The whole fleet mixed up runing down the course and beating back up making more distance and sailing course race instead of slalom..
Finally the race commitee came up with the good decision and abandoned the race.
The second race started after one hour after the wind picked up again and settled in.
Again, the rain came with the wind so shortly after the start the wind died for a while, then came back with the strong gusts so the whole flet flew down to the first mark. On the first marke there were some really strong gusts and very choppy sea. After the rounding adn on the way back againg the wind died then picked up again randomly on the race course. So half of the fleet would stand still while other would surfing full speed and vice versa.
This pattern continued till the end and finally the wind died so some of the surfers stayed long time on the sea after the finish.
The most successful was Zdravko Cerovac who scored 1st place, followed by Vladan Desnica on the 2nd, our team member, congratulations Vladan!!!
