Had a 27.8 alpha at 60, and a 27.17 at 55 - so close!

Slowboat (47697km):
5206 days ago Woodies. Got down there and was trying to decide whether to go the 7m or 6.2m cos it was windy. Greg came back and showed me a 32kt gust on his wind meter just before I headed out on the 7m. But it didnt look that windy. Was fully juiced on the way around to the end of the point but then it seemed to drop. Must be a lull. First run, not so powered up. Whack. Its shallow  . Took the tip off my fin but kept sailing anyway. Glad I had the 7m rather than 6.2m. In fact the 7.8m would have been better for speed I think. Wind continued to drop as did the speeds. Missed the best of it but still had fun.
Had a few goes at alphas but never hooked one with a gust all the way. Its hard to keep your speed up when you have to roll through 12kt lulls. Min speed just under 17kts, max was 31.
Overall was good fun with the lads. 7m SP53 CL27r
