Kurrimine Beach...7.0m 120l Fatboy.....

No wind till after lunch....went out at 2pm and because there has been several calm days we could see all the bombies etc that is usually obscured by silt.   Not a lot of wind but mostly sunny and good fun.

Well the fishermen here at Kurri have been having a ball with glassy conditions...but at lunch time they rushed back in because a few whitecaps appeared.       A very enjoyable sail.......6.6m O2and 105l Screamer.

We woke up this am with the plan to go wave sailing out the back of Arlington Reef ...on checking the team challenge web site we discovered the bad news ...!!! Al my wave sailing son couldnt face a day without a wave fix so we headed out the 45klms thru the swell & the vicious chop for him to ride the waves for a couple of hours.

The modified plan was then to meet the girls on Green Island for an afternoon session & as the wind picked up as predicted to blitz all categories...!!!

2 things stopped us 1.The wind didnt pick up 2.Lachlan's GPS was not charged & promply switched itself off 18 nm into his session ( I didnt discover this until my first break after 2.5 hrs)

I tried my damndest figuring there was hope with the 1 hr category & distance category but the non charged GPS did my head in so I called it quits ...

Well done PIT CREW !!!  NEXT JUNE...!!!

GPS ran out of charge whilst i was out on the water, my mistake should have charged it. let the team down there,
for that im sorry.

Other then that i enjoyed a great day out on the water with cam, al and friend of mine. we initially were out at the back
of arlington reef where al did some wave sailing and i went surfing. some pretty fun waves out the back there.
the sun was out for most of the day.

a great day out on the water over all

Pity the wind didn't come up as expected and bit of a bummer all round. Just like to thank you Cam and the others for a great effort and for keeping us close to the top. Maybe July. People must be mad to want to sail in ice water!Yell

Bad luck FNQ - I gather the fat lady wasn't singing from the song sheet you sent her Wink.  As evets said "what a great competition we are in".  Congrats to the Pitsters for June too.
