What happened to the 30-40knots!!, i'll tell ya didn't turn up. Went to swan bay today and sailed with Pete and Ado from the pit crew, had some good runs but the wind once again didn't do what was expected, just couldn't get a powered up nautical, just want on good day here, but i think its gunna be once in a blue moon i think.

Well I went to Point Henry at about 2pm. Rigged up and launched just as the hailstorm came through. Sat it out for a couple of minutes before squeezing in just 5 tentative runs before the breeze died out to dogging.

Can't have been much worse than my Saturdays effort at trying to get out on the lake in a Westerly. I couldn't even get a single run in.

Good top speed Jacques - and good to catch up today. One day SB will go ballistic!

Maybe, but that 1.5nm slog, and swim back, for the thrid time, is slowly turning me off. But i think by the sound of Frant's session today, it may well have been the same in town, that's what i'll keep telling myself to give it one more try.

Yes, it would be interesting to compare notes with Frant as it sounds like we didn't get any less wind at Swan Bay than at Point Henry. The Seabreeze graphs for today look pretty ordinary also and not too different to what we experienced. So I think that shows that the land shadow effect can't have been too much.

Are the rubbish bins still there Jacques. It came through mighty wild last night. I have cut a few trees down to improve the view of the lake from my bedroom window. These acted as a windbreak and without them the french door which has only a dead bolt in the bottom was bending open at the top letting the weather right in. It was just like being onboard a boat.

I think Point Henry might have been a bit more consistent than Swan Bay. A couple who had been out earlier commented that it had been pretty gusty, but the bloke had been using a 5.3. I sat out the 25 knot hailstorm for about 2 minutes before sailing on the back of it for about 15 minutes. I dogged back to the carpark from deep in the saltworks but just as I got back it picked up again but I was knackered.
