Sandy Point, Vic, AU, finally more wind (around 25kts+ in gusts) from the east sailed with the Bonno Blasters Jman, Skipper and KGB. After an early wave sailing session at Warratah Bay (no GPS), arrived at the inlet short after high tide, water level was fairly low (new moon) but still choppy as buggery until the bar was exposed. Rigged a 6.2 and started with the Rocket, just when I took off the mast snapped above the boom Cry. Luckily I had a spare FiberSpar 430, not optimal but got me going again. Changed a few times between the Banana 82l wave board and the Rocket (wind fairly up and down) but in the end stayed on the Rocket and pipped the Banana top speed by .3 knots. Long session!

Finally we got a desent east wind today, we started the day at Waratah bay and after lunch headed for the inlet.

Wind was a bit up and down and the water very chopy until the tide got a bit lower, unfortunatly the wind fell away when the tide was at its lowest.

Thanks for you tip Seb, if skinnies mean they don't break then I'm changing over. Wink if anyone finds a NeilPryde SDM 430 Wave Mast IMCS 21 (botton part or a whole mast) please let me know.

Jak, I have been using rdm's (Ezzy) for the past 3.5 years and have yet to break one! I also use a thick rubber type shim which in my personal opinion also helps protech the mast.
