What a sail!! Got there pretty early and not much wind. Put up the big gear (7.2 Hellcat, Starboard GO), and sailed about 55km with that including a trek over to Kurnell and back. Wind was around 12-18knots. Then I was lazy and just stuck the 7.2 on my small baord (FSW 92). It didn't work that well, as the sail is too big, but I shoved the mast base forward and put the boom down, and it worked OK. Unfortunately though I could not really get any good speed runs, as it was a bit unbalanced to really go for it. So I just cruise around (except for the gusts I was way overpowered in!!) for another 55km to get a PB for distance, and get a good workout at the same time!!

Cheers,

Adrian

Wow what a session. Lots of kms clocked up and sailing across the bay. Not sure about having such a big sail on your little board but you got it to work.

Well done on the personal best. Anytime getting over 100 kms is very impressive.

Hopefully the wind is reasonable tomorrow for a full day of sailing.

Half way across the bay I wondered about the logic of my decisions to go across the bay!! It is further than it looks!! About 8km each way.

I did not know hopw the 7.2 would work on the FSW. The wind pick up enough to use the small board, so I thought I should try it to get an idea how it works. Packed away the big board and got out the small... and the wind died down!! So I struggled for about 15 minutes with the small board and it picked up a bit... it was fine for a while.. about 15-20, so just kept sailing. then some of the gusts were coming through at 25, and I was pretty tired, so could not be bothered to change down, so just kept at it as long as I could until I was totally tired out!! Next time wi Ill change down to 6.2!!

I will not be able to get out today unfortunately. :(

Cheers,

Adrian
