Went for a Sunday drive with Slowy down to Augusta. Spent most of the day stuffing around with the wrong gear. Started with Isonic 86 but was too small for the 7.8 and the gusty wind. Then borrowed Chris's 110 nude when he wasn't looking, started with too small a fin again, changed this a couple of times and ended up with the Tech 36. Then after some more rigging lesson finally got everything sort by the end of the day. By this time it was getting late and was time to pack up. Impressed with the gybing and glide of the 110 nude, very comfortable board.

Hmmm...cyclone...so where was the wind? Pretty sloppy, choppy conditions...hard to get any decent speed...and how warm was the water!

However an "interesting" and reasonably enjoyable session nonetheless. A bit like winter but hot. Some team out, some on the beach...

Distance edited to reflect TDD...

You won't beleive this Darryl, I spotted your silver Kombi heading south about 10ks out from Busselton yesterday around mid day. I wasn't sure it was you but it must have been!! I was heading home from Yallingup!

On another note, would you recommend Augusta as a place to sail? Maybe it could be our "Down South Trip" in March?!?

Now that's comittment Daz...great effort and nice speeds...always good to nude up in Augusta they say!

Looks like a great little setup especially in a nor-wester (which I'm assuming it was?)...it's been years since I've been to Augusta.

It was actually a South East breeze down there which meant you could run square to the bank. Could be a good weekend depending on forecast, the main unknow is the kite population. Reports were Sat was crowded with kites everwhere. Sunday, there was only one and he ended up in the trees on the north side of the river so we basically had the place to ourselfs all day.( assume the talk of a cyclone may have scared them off, or they heard that slowy was coming down)

I sailed Augusta Saturday Daryl - there were kites, maybe 10, but they mostly stayed up the north east end and never got in my way. I think it was the Margaret River kite school that brought them down.
