Kyeemagh, 12-22 knots NE

Carbon Art SL58, Loft Switchblade 6.8, 35cm Select S05

Starboard S-Type 126, Loft Switchblade 8.5, 40cm Curtis fin

Wow, just wow. I love this new board. It irons out the chop and paves a smooth path. It does exactly what I bought it for - a fast smooth ride through chop. I'm sure it's a lot faster than I am!

It was a typical NEer today. Slog out to the runway, then BAM 15-18 knots all the way to kurnell. Troy and I did four runs across, then I decided it was time to check out the new toy. I was a bit underdone on the 6.8, but the CA just pops up on the plane and runs with it.

Jimmy's Beach, NSW,

Heat 5 NSW Windsurfing series

Apparently there was a wind reading of 9knots on the course, my 12.0 told me more like 15-18knots.

Had lunch & rigged a 10.0 which was just right, started getting a bit scary towards the end, probably around 25knots.

Nothing the chicken strap couldn't handle, absolutely buggered...

Narrabeen Lake, NSW, AU

15 boats racing, 2 largish start and rescue boats, pin end 50 meters upwind and bottom mark dead smack in the middle of the bearaway point, 20 windsurfers including quite a few kamikaze peanuts and you have 2-3 foot cross current chop, clinch your clacker, close your eyes and wish the gusts from 10-25 knots align the planets and you have todays session. So whats different at Lake Dangerous!!

Point and pray!!!

Back to freakin' work tomorrow after hols, how am I gonna get shoes on???

JP V 68, RSR 7.8, 40cm crap fin.

Had a lot of fun on the second run of my new AB+59.

BUT, could have gone much faster if I wasn't so scared of being catapulted... Fin sits too deep in the tutlebox. Need ot sort that out.

Thought I'd gone faster than that, with the GPS showing a peak of 35.7. Probably for the 1/2 a second I was in free flight during one of my scarier moments..

Finally got a great video of one of my better lay-down gybes recorded for posterity. I've upload to youtube...

Best runs on AB+ 59cm, 95L, 7.0m TR6 and c3 fin, 34cm.

Late sail, full of holes and underpowered, but still great to be on the water after a month of no sailing.

Jimmys Beach Hawksnest 15-25knts NEster

Heat 5 NSW Series. Went in three races out of 4. Place something like 5th, 4th and 1st in the FE+.

Wind really picked up after 3pm. The fleet came in for a break after the 3rd. I picked up a brick off the beach to avert someone stubbing their toes, threw it into the bush and instead ripped a gash out of my finger.......Dame it!Yell Sat out the last race and T. Ford picked up the 1st.(He came 2nd in the previous)!Wink

Started on Starboard Formula 160,  VMG K76 cut down, NP EVO II 10.7 first race.

Swift switch down to Starboard Formula 160, VMG K70, Race 700 NR, NP RSR 9.8 in the last two races.

Nationals start on Wednesday. Wind throughout the wk predicted to be stronger again. It's going to be interesting & definitely not for the fait hearted. Bring it on!Tongue out

Just picked up a new GPS, GT-31 so google map and full stats from now onCool

Mike you looked very very comfortable out there. Had a lot of fun chasing you around. You killed me upwind, probably the difference between a 31cm fin for me and a 35 for you! The CA boards just look sooo sorted on the water. Your description of it ironing out the chop is very apt. I watched you coming towards me a couple of times from the beach and it was just glued to the water. My old thing was bouncing around everywhere which was probably morseo the trimming but I wasn't feeling in the groove to try and sort it. The wind was too flukey. You will HAVE to come to Sandy Point this year to give it a really good go. 35 knots will be a doddle for you now. Like Keef said, get a smaller fin and clench your sphincter!!
