iS76, 6.1CRed, 30 KA Sl - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SSE 20 - 30 knots

Got blasted off the water and had difficulties just trying to hold it together.  Should have rigged the 5.0 but I doubt it would have made it any more enjoyable. Sailed right on high tide and the shore break was massive with ocean state impossible to go broad for even a couple of seconds. Had a couple get offs and one gybe where foot got pinned between mast and board. My track below says it all.  Wish I could have gone to Burrum.

Burrum Heads, QLD, AU

Xfire 90 sting 30 rsr 6.2 evo 3

Challenging conditions with strong wind ,outgoing tide ,brutal chop on the way out & course unfamiliarity .

Great Day overall with around 10 sailors turning up & kameos from Lyn,Herb,Ray& Gail .Finally got to meet the very imposing ODIN.

Brad was smoking!!! on his CA 53 & looked really at home ...

Speed board would have been nice but happy with the rrd performance ...

Had to leave before the low tide so expect some good times from BRad & Odin as the rolling chop eases after the tide change

Great Venue!!!

Usual Mackay slop hopping, I'll bet those guys at Burrum didn't get as much airtime, poor bastards.

Cam,

Shame you weren't there for low tide but still great work - I'd be over the moon with those numbers.  Hopefully the wind will be there in a fortnight for the Burrum Windfest.

PS - Is there still that small break in the sand bar half way down the course?

We counted 15 sailors and one kiter at Burrum today.....I reckon there was 30 to 35 knots on the beach and could have been even more, 4 or 5 kms out at the end of of sandbar.     Looking thru binos the water was just white and rough as hell.    I took one look and decided it was too much for me to handle.   Better to be on the shore wishing I was out there, than out there wishing I was on the shore.

Good to meet up with so many top sailors from SEQ and the FNQ Camikazi (who was in top form).

Sausage....I heard B-rad explaining to Cam that when he passes that washaway that you would be referring to....well he puts the hammer down till he passes the No 1 beacon and he can be sure he has done a NM.
