LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB

WIND:  SW- 20 kts, dropping to 15kts then increasing to 20kts WSW

TIDE:  INCOMING- OUTGOING

GEAR: CA FR77, c3 venpm 36 KA KOYOTE 5.9  up to C3 VENOM 40, KA KOYOTE 6.6

DETAILS;  Just could not get it together on the morning session.  Board felt unbalanced and sail just didn't feel right.  Made some adjustments to downhaul and outhaul but it still felt gutless.  After a frustrating hour I came in a rigged bigger.  Put a bigger Venom in as well as the difference was amazing.  Board felt great with a bit more lift and heaps more grunt in the sail.  Got my best runs towards the end, where I did about 6 runs in a row where I couldn't get the dial above 27knots.  Every run I'd try to push it over but the 27 stayed stuck on the gps!

Good speed on the wide board Drift - I have a similar width board (78cm) and 27 seems to be about the upper range for speed - I once got it to 29 with a 6.5!  Anything windier it just wants to take off.

Hi James,

I agree...the FR77 feels like it has a speed lock on it!

Yesterday I tried everything to get it up and over that speed...facial expressions, pushing the front foot through the board, butt clenching...none of it helped!!!!Smile
