Mortimer Bay, TAS, AU  Up and down breeze, 7.5 then changed to 6.6.  Bit of fun. Is 111

Sailed at east inlet Stanley on SW direction on an outgoing tide with Ben. some very flat sections but wind was only 18-22 and dropping out a lot. As the tide went down some of the runs were a bit scary and hit the bottom a few times including a very nice catapolt. sailed my new 5.6 loft for a while and although not powered up it felt really good at times..cant wait to really give it a run in some stroger wind.

Stanley Eastern inlet with Paul who thought it would be good on a SW which it certainly was. Got a few good numbers and finally got into both footstraps for the first time... then promptly hit a sand bank! As Paul said it was scary at times when cloud cover made it very hard to see the depths while planning. Thanks for your help getting into those straps Paul.

Wind ranged from 0 to 20 knots as rain squalls came through, quite frustrating -- one day I'll manage to get on the water when the wind is consistent! Started using the footstraps for the first time, it worked a treat!

Thanks guys, absolutely knackered today.... love Stanley!

Jez

I have sailed the western inlet once before, I think it was a SW. Was choppy but wind was pretty good. Also some strong current on the western side of the western inlet. I prefer the flat water at this stage anyway. Wheres your number 1 spot for flat water in tasie, Port sorell?

Henty River beats the best flat water spot by far...

That is my fav spot Izaak Smile

Ben did you sail in the channel though or did you just sail where you park? we sailed their together earlier this year on the western side but it wasnt down in the channel. Where we sailed it was pretty choppy but i want to sail further down in the actual channel.
