Hot Sails Maui Speed Demons 7.3m and 6.6m. Tabou Rockets 135 and 105. Select and smaller weed fins. Wow, what a day. The wind arrived with a bang shortly after I arrived along with the rain. A southerly change at its finest. I rigged to smaller sail and the smaller board. Went out and struggled with a lack of wind. The wind had dropped off. So rigged the bigger sail and board. By this time the wind swung round to the east meaning reaches were straight into the choppy lake. After a while I decided to do some downwind runs. Wow! Great fun and very fast for the bigger board, over 28 knots. Very impressed. Finally decided to rerig the smaller HSM Speed Demon and smaller board. Great fun too with more downwind run and tacking back upwind. Love the Hot Sails Maui Speed Demons. A good crew out including a learner who was doing well and getting tips off everyone.
