Used the full quiver as the 13knot 8am breeze turned into a 30 knot howler at 3pm.

Came in before the 35 knot gusts and washing-machine style chop got the better of me.

great to have a bit of wind ,wind was a bit all over the place .but the sail felt great, it seems like the out haul is very sensitive to the wind strenght ,get it right  and away you go.

Howrah IS121 R3 7.8 . Was SSW when dad and I rigged up and looked like a steady 15 knots. Swung a bit more SW as we went out. Opened it out on my first run, was really rough but still got over 30. About half way through the first run the wind swung W and came in over 30 knots. The river pretty much turned into a surf beach. Struggled to get in because my board kept blowing away. Dad had one of the biggest stacks I've ever seen, was glad to see him sitting on the board after it! Wish the wind had have swung earlier, should have been at Dorans.

Dorans, TAS, AU

Got to Dorans around 11am and sailed in gusty NW till around 1pm. Was waiting for the wind to swing around to the SW and get windy. Wind swung at around 1pm. On my first run across in the SW (opposite side to the carpark) as a jibed all I can remember was I was in the water and my sail had swung all the way around and the mast came back and smashed me really hard just above the eye. luckily no stitches but a lot of blood, took about 30 mins to get back to the carpark as the wind had then swung S/SW and dropped off. Thats the only problem with sailing on your own if you have a mishap. The new 5.6 R4 is an awesome sail, feels like it has almost as much power as the 6.2. Isonic 90, 32cm Venom, 5.6 R4.

Steve, yes I sailed at Mortimer on my own too. I always wear my helmet when venturing on my own and I ring Clyde and tell him where I'm sailing then ring him when I'm back in. You just never know.
