What a GREAT sail!! ! !

I haven't had that much fun in ages. From Taren point bridge to the point across from Doll's point. Long runs in pretty consistent S-ESE breeze

20-30kts.

Exocet RS2 91L, Nitro 32cm fin and .... 7.0m !!! sail. Somewhat overpowered in the 30kt gusts, solved by heading up wind!

So great out in the cold. Chasing down Roar, Ric, Ken, Artur, Craig, George and his newbie friend and so many others.

Sailed until I literally couldn't sheet in any more. Took a 5min breather and went back for more. Extatic and exhausted!.

Fast

Surprisingly my fast speed was heading back to the beach - in the chop!

Late trip up the F3 hoping the change would come in a bit later. It did and it was fun as!!!!!!!!!! Lots of warm sunshine, dead glassy water and blah blah blah  and then it hit pretty late. Marauders, Lake Mac's and a lone Roach madly rigged. Wind wasnt the best direction but bloody good.

Straight off the launch it was get set, put your right blinker on & go for it. Awesome fun just barrelling along then running out of wind. There was some crazy tracks out there today with guys smashing all over the place plus I didnt hit anyone, woo hoo!!!! usual suspects Byron, Mick, Hugh, Greg, Millsy, Wayneo, Bruce,  Bill etc all having a blast

Reckon most of us took awhile to get back up after the wind started to back off. Packed up as it was getting dark and a quick trip home with the glasses on Embarassed so I could see the traffic. Definitely worth the trip.

Falcon 99, Evo IV 7.0, 24 weedy.

Great session. Best for a while on the slalom gear. A little gusty but hay, beggers can't be chosers!

Heaps of guys out and some new faces, that could sail. One of the blokes was a monster! I was well lit up on one run and he sailed past me like I was standing still.Foot in mouth

Sailed for the first time behind the mangoves, what a revelation! Some great runs to be had there. Can't wait for the next southerly at full tide. Laughing

You should have come down a little further south with the rest of us MT. Best sail I've had in a long time! Everyone was grining from ear to ear! Sandbar was under-water but the kurnell point was protected and fast!.

Ads, I See on your track, your top-speed was heading back to the beach, like mine!

Weird, hey. I don't think we were heading down-wind enough out towards the mangroves, although I did try a few short down-wind blat's.

Perhaps the sheltered winds were not as strong as out in the main bay.

Congratulations to EVERYONE, 7/7 above 30KTS! Awesome session. Cool

Thanks all, it was a sweet late arvo sail with a great bunch of blokes. Pretty flat water but just not enough wind and right direction for epic speeds.

Gabe, we were all standing around Canton sweating that it wasnt going to happen when all of a sudden you could see the wind line coming. It hit Sydney about 2:30 and we got it about an hour later. It was a rigging frenzy and get on the water before the wind died or we ran out of daylight.

Put the Gopro on and it was sweet bearing off into the setting sun, will try and post some footage soon. Got bloody dark real quick, couldnt wait to get home for a frostie. Bummer it didnt get up to you fellas.

Alfa, yes mate i reckon you're right. running runs in between the swell humps seemed to be the quickest, although scariest! And yep, we needed to be going deeper in the flat water, i agree, but the wind was so on and off there, it was difficult to get set properly? Would have liked to stayed out longer, but the forearms were blowing out. Lack of match fitness! See ya next time
