With the wind not forecast to arrive until after midday Mag and I enjoyed the sunshine in our garden, did our excercises for the first time for a couple of weeks due to lots of wet weather in France and then went food shopping as we had nothing in !!! I then took my kit to The Dip and things looked promising my my mate Mark Smalling out and going well on 7.7 on his 145 lt. board so risked the 7.5 on my 133 zantos and at no point during the day was I powered up with this set-up :( Steve Carter arrived and rigged 8.5 but was struggling to get going so decided to rig my 9.4 and take out the raceboard. I set off at nearly high water - not the best time but beat down the coast to Landguard and then reached 6/7 miles to East Lane Martello tower but never flat out and never fullly powered up :( Crossing the river mouth was interesting with big waves coming at you from all directions !!! I then sailed to the old windsurfing hut and back enjoying the sunshine even if the sea is still a bit on the chilly side !!! I tried the shortboard again but coundn't get going so packed up - nice day ven if not many turned up :( I don't think I like the 'fat cat' as much as my old smaller volume model and I need a better 7.5 as mine needs lots of wind to get going perhaps I will look out for a 7.8m Tushingham Lightning. I think Mark had the best day sailing over 30 miles and had the right gear for the day :)

nice to out in the sun on my new ac1 sails , first time on the 7.2 and i love it loads of power and very light in the hands for a 7m . needs a bit more tuning but first impressions are very good

bit bumpy really but happy with a 33 knot max on a 7m and 107 isonic

Arrived as wind dropped, sounds like morning crew had it best. Wobbled out then waited for wind to increase for 8.5m/118l. OK planning, sea quite nice and smooth; sailed through the river chop and bit rougher other side.Wind occasionally got up which felt better. Planed most of the time, lovely sunshine, OK powered but something seemed missing so only 2*, though don't really know why not more. Lot of sailors and kiters out who were all enjoying themselves.
First time this year without boots, and feet not cold so it must be summer

It was a lovely sunny day at Brog and it was great to be sailing with bare feet and arms!

I worked myself pretty hard for about 1.5 hours, gybing or tacking about every 40 seconds. It looks like I clocked up about 75 gybes in total and the rest were tacks to keep my ground. I didn't fall today so I'm now feeling more prepared for upcoming slalom competitions.

Later on I rigged up some freestyle kit. Plenty of falls and a couple of hooked in Spock crashes!

windy, sunny and warm - nicest sail of the year so far. The wind was gusty and chop pretty big but there would be 20 minute spells of organised chop and solid wind giving some superb downwind blasts. Maxed on the 7.8 at times. JP68, 7.8 EVO 5, S10 39
