Solo 100 km day at Hoofdplaat. Too bad Paul didn't had enough volume to reach the spot... It was tricky to get there. Very low wind (12-15 kts) and very high current (around 8 kmph) didn't make it easy. I had to pass two ships in the canal (offcourse i was still on the leeward side...) and reached the spot only after 1 hour TOW.

Those are the days when you have finally some advantage being a light weight windsurfer. Just wait for a little gust, do some active pumping and then it keeps going. After each gybe or tack you had to wait for those little gust to start planing. Even in those very low wind, the Racing Blade 7.8 performs excellent.

Proofed today that you can do insane speeds here without wind if the current is strong enough !! Did my fastest run and topspeed when the wind was less then 15 kts (cfr geotool) but with the current of 8 kmph this is almost a 20% gain !! In fact this is not completely fair as my speed related to the water surface was ard 8 kmph slower... Later on (after 21u00) the wind picked up finally and there were gusts of 20 kts. I went way much faster then ever before that day and still my speeds were lower because the tide had turned already. Just insane to see the difference. I knew that this could be a factor one day, but never thought it would be so pronounced !! Luckily the wind picked up at the right moment: I told myself to go back at 9pm and was already pitching downwind to pass the little sand bar when the wind suddenly picked up, so i went upwind again for another 50 kms. Could easily use my F85 + 7m in the end.

First time with the shortarm and even after 10pm it wasn't cold at all. Did the whole session without drinking: After an hour while using my camelbak for the first time discovered that it was empty (leak?)... Quite thursty when i came ashore.

Nice sunny cruising day: just me, myself and some seals... but i prefer the smaller boards !!
