5-18kts SW-S Canton Beach, NSW, AU- 5-8kts at 1st. 7.5m overdrive + 115 Xcross + 38weedie.Pete & I out at 11.30.

Worked my way upwind the first 1/2hr top get in a good spot to bear off - the wind came in nicely and the uni joint busted - grrr.I use that one at Canton rather than the lake because it was old.Walked back in - brrr I think next time maybe the decent steamer rather than the leaky seamed one..

Have a spare so back out. Headed past the flag as it looked better out there and c 10-12kts so got planing a bit. When the wind finally kicked in a bit I'd been out 2.30hrs so not sailing real well.

I find it hard pulling the big gear on with my seat as I go upwind .I run c 30" lines ( I'm 5'6") and generally love them but decided to shorten the starboard one to see if I could use the harness better. It did help but I wasn't sailing real well by then.

Didn't bear off much as I don't like the idea of being stuck down in that corner..have to get over that..When I did not really powered up enough. Also didn't want to go into the weed much due to the large fin although I probably would have been ok. Stayed out a fair way all day.

B Pete..he wieghs more than me and on a 105ltre board with same size sail and still planes earlier..grrYellWink

Tibor helped me get the broken batten out of the 6.6m and gave me tips on how to fix it.Thanks.

Neck buggered by the end I think I'll pay tomorrow. Disappointed with my times and wasn't really powered up enough to do any planing gybes. Eyeing off the slalom boards - they look earlier planing etc..No no don't go there!UndecidedWink

I packed up when everyone else arrived - 11.30 - 2.30pm..

Tibor, Bruce, Pete , Mat, Wayne, + others.

Spent all morning worrying the promised SW would not come & decided to go up to Canton more in hope than expectation.  Luckily it had kicked in just before I arrived & had a good arvo on CASL62, 7.6 MUF28. A long run over to the west side of the lake was so good. Pete, Wayno, Sue, Mat D & Tibor all out.
