65cm big board, 6.5koncept 17X290 super shallow weedy.

Not fanging with fangy!

I demonstrated my uncanny ability to turn the wind of just by rigging a sail!

mandurah wind graph

Started rigging about 2.45 hit the water about 3.15

But a test of light wind settings and my epplerisation of the big 17cm broad base fin. So far I'm pleased with the fin, the super fine leading edge is a failed experiment, hopefully more wind tomorrow and I can get a better idea.

Fangy and I were fairly evenly matched, so it would have been good for tuning gear, (as long as we both didn't adjust things at the same time).

Just needed a more consistent breeze, most of the time was spent floating, 15km in an hour and a half isn't a brilliant average.

Today I realised why I bought an 8.4m sail and a 78cm wide 130 L board.  Missed best of wind (woke up out of nanna nap at 3pm looked up seabrease to see the yellow arrows, got on water by 3.45pm) sailed in about 8 to 13kts (so very happy to be planing 90% of time in Red Arrow territory) the reason I bought the big gear!!!.  Had a lot of fun planing most of the time.  JP Slalom VIII 78cm wide, TR-7 8.4m, True Ames Decrepit Modified 42cm weedy @ 40degree rake.

Very light wind session with Decrepit. The race was the first to 20 knots and the Wise Old Man of the Sea won handsomely. Social engagements stop me posting more so I will leave Decrepit to fill in the details...Maybe tomorrow there might be  a bit more puff...
