Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU                                  TR8 / 7.6 , JP/SL 68, Delta 22

Very up and down breeze , but any time on the water away from work is great , especially with team mates and also

a few marauders

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

Arrived late, just in time to miss the good wind. Some nice runs, super flat but the weed very thick & water level getting scarily low. CASL62, 6.6, 19MUF

15-20kts NNW - NW Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 115Xcross + 6.6m + 20cms delta then 95 rocket + 6m + 20cm delta.

Cripes I thought I was pretty fit before today.Undecided.Got there at 10.30ish..gusty 0-10kts in close and 15-20kts coming across and in the chop.. Started to rig the 7.5m and big board of course it came in then didn't it.. Rigged the 6.6m instead and went out. I didn't want to sail the chop as I was feeling tired and unfit so tried to get upwind in the flat water..pain..

Water level is down so the weed is thicker + you have to be careful going in too far. I did a lot of stop and turn the board around as I wasn't came to go into a gybe  in case it was too shallow. Wasn't really an issue as I could feel when the fin started to drag along the bottom..

Got upwind  and realised the Delta wasn't in tight enough so had a 6 " moustache everytime I went through weed Yell.. Had one run coming back holding on for grim death .It felt fast as but only 24.9kts!( I did have a big moustache trailing though).

Came in ( after spending ages to get upwind to the weed bank) and decided to go for the smaller combo.

I'd had  trouble gybing ..too tired and couldn't be bothered - No effort + gybe = splat.. cripes think I missed 4 - 6 gybes.. sailing like crap!Just didn't have the strength in my arms to oversheet as entering and as I was pretty powered up with the 6.6m that was lethal.

Back out and finally got upwind a bit and some nice runs- felt sure it would be over 30 kts but no way Yell..B Pete- 1st time with a GPS and got 32.9kts.. I'd kill for that speed!Undecided

Came in for a rest and snack and then back out just in time for it to die (3.10pm).. I'd cheated going out and waded upwind - cripes who needs gym to get fit! My heart was racing . I need to get fit in the next 4 weeks so I can go XCD skiing .. think I'm gunna die!Embarassed

Hard work sailing dead downwind out of the harness to get back in - took 20mins! At least I could stand on my board - Greg + others had sinkers.

Pete,Wayne + me , Paul , Greg. Pugs +Mick out just in time to have it die on them..

If the lake gets much shallower we won't be able to sail the weedbanks ..

Nice speeds as usual Greg. I'm glad you guys got out for a sail I'm sidelined with a crook back at the moment. It was a bit sore on friday arvo then I went out on my formula gear and stuffed my back completely. It might be while before I can sail again. Worst case scenario I think is 6 weeks of gobbling down fish oil and I should be right. Amazing stuff that fish oil. Have fun on saturday guys!

Sorry to hear about your back Cluffy.

I've got a lousy memory Larko - unless I take photos of a trip/ sailboard or write something I can't remember it!..You don't have to read it ..LaughingWink

Actually just reread it - did go on a bit..writing while still in the moment..
