Mission was to get some time on the 97 and 7 to rekindle my love for this combo because the last few sessions haven't been right. I used 1cm less downhaul on the 7 today, wow, much better (thanks Fyfee), sail has more drive yet still nicely balanced, and as a result the board rails nicely, whereas if i overdownhaul it the board wants to sink the windward rail. 13-17kts was at the bottom range of this combo, 13kts doesn't get it planning out of gybes, 15 is OK, and 17 is great. so 97 with 7, 37 fin, and 17kts is magic. My lucky number is 7.

Drats, was going for dist Pb today, 15-18kts ESE when I got there at 8.30, got 110km before 12pm on Futura111/37/6.8, came in for lunch & wind dropped off. Waited an hr talking to russell & richard before rigging 7.8 on Isonic117/43, went back out, picked up a bit 10-15kts for an hr or so then rain squalls started coming thru, the usual 20kts+ in front, 2kts after they pass, nearly had to swim in a couple of times & then couldnt hold on others. Gave up at 4pm, to unpredictable & unpleasant
