Tabou Thunder 80, NP RSR Eiv 8.6m, Elmo SS 45cm

Nervous return to sailing, well unfit and even more unco, but I enjoyed myself.

Wind had faded a lot from my original viewing on the way home, should have rigged the 9.5 but you go with what you rig.

Good fun sailing with Benderman although I could have done without the Bender sized footmarks in my freckle fur as he was generally quite a bit quicker than me out there.

Good to be back

Great little sesh as Novara on the way home from stategic planing meetings in the head office all day.

Some head clearing "time on Water" was needed. Looking at the forecast yesterday i gambled and only pack the 122/7.8 combo. If felt really slippery in the light winds today. it could not have been more than 10-12 with the rare 15knt puff. Great fun all the same and good to see the red muppet back in the saddle. I sailed back and forth enjoying the pure fun of just sailing alongEmbarassed. No bear aways. I hope to use this combo in the "king of Carnac" race.

Being the domestic god of this household I have to admit to having made a slight miscalculation with the freezer this week. It appears that our freezer does not have anything in common with the TARDIS and there are times it even appears to be the opposite. So this morning having pillaged the local freezer section for ice-cream I ended up in front of the anti TARDIS trying to figure out where I was going to wedge another few litres of the stuff. The solution in the end,was all to easy to put into action. And every domestic god should be a man of action. I ate the entire contents of the ice-cream container that was resident and had out stayed its welcome.

I did not think it was possible to eat too much icecream, unless you are small and combine it with a trampoline and Fanta. Turns out I was wrong.(which in itself is a troubling development). So suffering from an ice-cream hangover and having dropped my core temperature to that of the Cool Guy on Canadian Club adverts, I decided to go for a sail in the rain, in my boardies. At least my shivering would burn off some of the Kj’s in that tub of ice-cream.

So here is the story of cruising the zephyrs at Fangy’s with Scott NoMates. QEII. KaRace9.4 (Modified)DeltaHC24 in 10 -12knots.

I decided Wamba’s was the spot as tide was moderate and the council was mowing everywhere else. There were some showers around and the whole thing was a tad grey. Then Nanna Stropoo turned up in high vis shirt to blind the unwary. I had to rig slow cos I was a bit worried about leaving my chair unguarded with Strop hanging around. But in the end the call to groove in the smooth was too strong and I had to abandon my chair to its fate.

For those of you who are sensitive to these things, I can confirm the crabs are back in force. They are mostly small fellas but they seem to be full of angry pills. I got nipped three times in the space of a few metres when I launched. However once out a little further I didn't see a crab again. They all seemed to be hard up against the shoreline in the softer silty mud.

There rain was falling lightly still and the wind decided to have a Kit Kat as well and so I was left in the drizzle, cold and doing a extended highlights tour of Groveltown.

Luckily for me Strop disappeared to check out the “Easy Lift” chair sales down at the Senior Citizens. As a result the sun got over its pique of jealousy about being outshone by Strop’s high vis  and decided to came out and play. The wind slowly started to venture back across the flats and I started to groove in the smooth.

Never enough wind to get cranked up but enough to enjoy a cruisey afternoon, cocktails and canapés made for a pleasant tour of the waters and enough to even call it a Top Ten Fangy Day. Laughing

Some images that I have uploaded cos I am having a play with the software.

As is always the way, as soon as I had closed off the orders for another round of Deltas someone pops up asking for one. So once again, if you want one, pm (fangman) me on Seabreeze and if I get enough interest to make it worthwhile offsetting the freight costs I will do another order. Allow six weeks.

Fangy you should really write a book one day.

Ratz and Bender, nice speeds for those wind conditions and sailing combos - there's no way in hell that I'd get my current frame up and planing using that gear in 10-12knots. Embarassed
