Fangy's with Decrepit, Basil, Fin, and Gusto. I made the rookie mistake of rigging for the forecast rather than for the conditions. As a result I had very few planing runs and got very frustrated at my stupidity. On the QEII and 9.4 I would have had a blast, instead I had the F2waterlog and KaKoncept7.5 and spent the majority of the afternoon attempting to scoop crabs with the nose of my very 'sinker' board. Dare I say it, but not a top ten Fangy Day.

However just to rub a bit of salt in, the wind appeared to pick up as I got out and the boys appeared to be doing quite well with their groove in the smooth. I am looking forward to seeing how they fared in the end.

Great to meet Gusto.I was well impressed with his lateral thinking on inserting a Delta fin..maybe he can tell you the storyLaughing

It's a bit hard to evaluate today, disappointing in that we didn't achieve anything at all in the 3 catergories I'd hoped to give a tickle. But As Fangy says after he packed up we had a very enjoyable time in the SMOOOOTH.

Was fun initiating Gusto into the smooth weed as well, for a while I was worried thetre wouldn't be enough weed for him to get a feel of it.

As always great sailing with your mates as well, had the pleasure of, Basil, Fin, and Fangy's company.

The only thing I confirmed today about the ground effect thingo, is that it's a reall sinker, and when you have 2 fins stuck in the mud, it's impossible to get going!

Tried the sikaflexed keef 17cm delta in the 53cm with the 6.6. Once the wind picked up this combo feels fantastic in the weedy smoothstuff. I was going so well about 1600 decided an hour might be possible, but 1/2hr into it wind died. Pas and I had a grovel back home.

             Coodanap,WA,AU.

Had a very fun day sampeling some of Fangy's weedy goodnes with Decrepit, (Barry) . sorry thats Basil, Gusto from way out east,

and of course the man himself Fangy. Things started off a bit slow, but things did pick up some, and the verdict

was,...  reeeeal  SMOOOOOOOTH.   Yep ya cane't complane about that.  I'll just put on mi sunnys.

                                                                                                                                                  Cool

old custm slalom 52,  21cm-45d,  6m Lightning,   could have gone with a 7m sail & the 50/55d superweedy but

was expecting stronger wind, and it just did not happen.!!

STUPID STUPID F'KEN STUPID!!!!!!!!!!

Even with eyesight ruined by 3-1/2 decades of serious masturbation I could still see that the forecast was wildly inaccurate, yet being the fumb ducker which I am, I rigged based on the forecast.

Should have rigged at least 2m bigger sail and had the big girl out.

Only way to describe the session as good practise in monkey ball licking, one would hope next time I rig for the forecast they are not quite as sweaty or better still they've been washed as the flavour is a bugger to get rid off.

Plus another thing that really annoyed me about today, Decrepit did not tell me what to rig so I could not even blame him! Looks as though you got some decent runs though Mike given the distance you got under the fin/ fins :-)

Wow Fangy, I can't believe it, a perfect sledging opportunity and you throw it away! Or is this just you being nice to somebody you've only just met?

Were you there when Basil came in? I was expecting to see some mention of that as well.

But it was very nice of you to be wind sacrifice, much appreciated.

It's a pity Gusto's and my coming in for lunch attempt didn't work all that well, although we did see you and fin getting planning. By the way, I can report, Gusto's chairs are very comfortable.

And that's another thing you missed, as I picked up my lunch box to move to said chair, I lost my grip on it, and watter mellon, stawberry and tomatoe all ended up in the limestone and sand of some hoon's burnout track.

I think today was just one of those days when opportunities passed me by one after another. I didn't forget Gusto though, I just thought I would give a chance to confess before I sledge him :-)

Thanks Fangman... yeah so maybe putting the delta fin in backwards wasn't such a good idea ... but what a jolly old moment it was for everyone LaughingLaughing thanks again for the fun afternoon and the loan of that crazy arse fin from Decrepit ! Flying across that weed in ankle deep water is certainly a buzz  !  managed 27.42 knts ... probs would have been well quicker if you's let me put it in the way i wanted ...

Gee Decrepit. Your spelling and grammar are usually top notch. Were you away from school the day they did fruit in spelling class? LaughingWink

Sorry to hear you lost your lunch. How annoying. Must be the hypoglycaemia affecting your spelling...

Didn't loose it Anita, just had to scrape a whole pile of grit off it.

Most of the time I rely on spell checker, but it doesn't work on this site. Hmm see what you mean 3 out of 3 anin't bad, and I wasn't even trying.
