Gear: JP 160L, 7.7 Gaastra Manic, 48cm JP fin.

Got catapulted near bank going 22.23 knots as did not have foot in back footstrap. Fell on RIG. Next run out towards Manly - boom broke in two places, A alloy/carbon Prolimit boom snapped in two places at once. Just BANG! and BOTH places gave way. The alloy in boom head and the back end carbon fibre snapped! Old Pete came over for support. Sailed back with half a boom! Got 10knots back with a much lighter rig. Will post broken boom pictures - later on a re-edit of this post.

GPS showed 2 sec max of 23.6 knots on screen; so I dont know what this 22.57 knots crap is!

Wellington Point, QLD, AU, Falcon 104, Nash Freeride 6.5 and a Meanline fin 38cm. Not enough wind for me to get any speeds or maybe it is my tecnique that is lacking, because people were getting good speeds all around me. Anyway I did not get stung by jellyfish and I lost two kilos doing this exercise so I am quite happy.

Got down early to beat the storms well that worked but wind didn't look like playing the part so rigged & waited suddenly it picked up so I hit the water as it slowly filled in but not that strong I was looking for more all arvo. Good turn out later even joined by Vando who missed most of it.

Bloody jellies every where I fell off once amongst them as I was panicking to get up my dam out haul came off I didn't get stung thank god but the water is full of there slime which give you the itch god their bad this year.

Well done guys and congrats on the PB's Trev. The GT31 will read higher peak on the screen as it measures less than 2sec. When you upload to KA72 it works out the peak 2sec number which will always be less than your screen unless you held that speed for some time (which never happens). There can also be anomalies with the date which KA72 fixes for you. Sorry to hear about the boom.

Ta guys - Phil and Martin for support. Martin you are correct. I read  Max speed not 2 sec max. I was going to ask ..... be called Boombuster no2 or BB2 - but probably wont get away with it. Haha. Not keen to break more booms or masts!

Albert.. I think you went well. GOT A 29.4 after some 27s lately. That is cool. Good session.

Good one Trev, you're progressing well. Keep it up. Don't worry about the boom as long as you didn't hurt yourself and can keep sailing. Cheers
