Primbee, NSW, AU   Well I was there by myself, Phil was on the kite.  A NNE about 20kts but very gusty.

The wind was mainly along the edge so did not venture out wide, used the freeride sail, less tireing.

Some of the boys may need to get match fit for their journey away.

Tabou 95l Rocket   Loft 5.9 freeride    2 weeks to go!  Polish those fins.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU

Gusty NE'er at the club. Spent the morning getting my modified formula board ready for its first trial. Only made it in time for the last three slalom races. Interesting racing on the longboard. Blasted a bit after the racing on the longboard, then pulled out the mod formula for its maiden voyage when the wind 'moderated' a bit (ie a bit bigger gaps between the gusts). The formula trifin worked a lot better than expected. Doesn't feel that different from normal formula. Plenty of lift from the fins, can use the normal outboard footstraps. Felt a touch sluggish, maybe because of the drag of the three fins. Gets upwind pretty well, not as good as normal formula. Took it over the primbee shallows and hit ~24 kts off the wind. Next things to test is just two fins, or three smaller fins. Plenty of room to play, I just have to collect some weed fins. Thanks to Glen for the loan of the yellow fin.

Nice modifications John  love seeing people trying something different  allways wondered about a wide twinfin etc in the shallows ( on seabreeze "leggless" mentioned using a wide board with twin delta's  for shallow water)

Thanks Phil, yep I've been thinking about it for ages, so I figured I'd better just go and try it. Was a lot of work though.

Looks good John. Like Phil mentioned, I'd love to see how deltas worked. Could be great for a light westerly in the shallows. I've got a 24 and 19 if you ever want to borrow them.
