A bit less wind than yesterday, hovering around 20kNts. Chop nearly rattled your teeth out to begin with. Flattened out a little with the tide but by then the wind had dropped a bit so not enough power to better the speeds. The CA was well behaved in the really choppy stuff, got the 2 sec when at its roughest and even pulled a few tentative jumps. Caspar fin probably not ideal choice being a true speed fin, so let go after getting airborn a few times when pointing hard.

CA SL58, Caspar 31, Koyote 5.9

Green Island!

First sail for the year at the island, way too rough on the high tide when i first arrived, so I spent the first hr on the water using Toodys 4.3mS1 and 80l Kode, Great fun!

Sailed on the slalom gear for the rest of the arvo as the tide never realy got low enough the flattern the water out.

Used 2014 Isonic 90 C3 Viper 32 and Overdrive 6.0 Kode 80 and S1 4.3Cool

iS90, 6.3RBlade, 33 CL Sl2 - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU ESE 15 - 22kn

After yesterday's ballistic session thought I'd give the main beach a go.  Wind never really cranked and should have gone with my gut feel and rigged the 7.0 but the 6.3 wasn't too bad - just not enough going broad.  tried for an Nm on first run broad heading downwind to main beach but wind very up and down.  Found some flattish water between the swells in close but headland was buffering wind a lot.  Much nicer to sail over here than Lammermoor as there's no wave reverberation and ocean bottom much more consistant.  Only issue was the outgoing creek outflow combined with the incoming waves created a washing machine half way through the broad runs.  Some scary moments but never had any offs.  2 Sec beach PB for me and tried as I might just couldn't get it over 34 - had a 33.95 on the dial.  Just shy of my ocean distance PB although I don't think I could have sailed much longer as arches of feet rubbed raw from the footpads and the constant jarring / bouncing around.  Can't ever recall that happening before.  Hands were a bit tender  too from sailing difficult conditions over the last three days.

Quite surprised at how well the 90 went upwind to get me home in only 4 runs.  Will sleep very well tonight.

A late post for Saturday 7 Feb. Hoppy Bob cleaned up the file for me  by taking off the road trip.  Thanks Bob.  Good luck tomorrow.

Another bone rattling Open Ocean Session Trojan....big congrats on the session mate - they are certainly not for the faint hearted.

Awoke this morning with the intention of hitting the reef flats with Kel - however with Seabreeze reporting 30 - 40 knts out at Arlington (take 5 off for Green Is) and expected reports of 100-200 mls of presipitation in the 24 hr period, I kindly contacted Kel and informed him that we had to be sensible and abandon the days activities. So needless to say, wifey wished I had of gone..in no uncertain terms. Bit unfair I thought!!!!!

Anyway, lets see what the next 24 hrs brings...probably just more bloomin rain Frown

Due to an onset of "The Massive Lazies" yesterday, I have twice as much to get through today Frown.  Im quite sure that yesterdays trip to Green would have ended in heart ache of some description, however you still have this nagging thought in the back of ones mind of "What if". Anyway, lets see what today brings.

As per usual Snags, nice work in the rough stuff. That's a really impressive set of numbers for the ocean. I was a bit surprised to read your hands were getting sore, I would have they would have been used to constant rubbing:-)
