Stephen Squirrell (34966km): For the second Wednesday in a row some wind was forecast as it didn't show last week I wasn't holding my breath this week!!! I had three options today Southend,Point Clear and Levington - I didn't think the forecast was up to travelling so went local. I arrived at Levington at low water and rain which had killed the wind :( After waiting for the rain to stop I then rigged 8.5 and went out on the longboard as the wind seemed to up and down for a shortboard which proved right. I tried a couple of runs down towards Felixstowe docks but the wind was too light here so then beat up to Pin Mill where all the best wind was. I had some nice broad runs back doing nice planning gybes but the river was very bumpy :( I had a snack break and sailed to Pin Mill again, the beat was ok but the reach back was slow with the wind dropping! I then gave up just as Mag arrived on her bike so we had a cuppa and read our books:) | ||||||||||||||||||
benno (2236km): could of been a really good one, wind was strong when arrived so went for the 91 as i havnt had chance to really use it yet, couldnt get dialled so changes made after the first 3 attempts then bingo got it right felt perfect (boom too low) and scored a 30.22 max which was very easy, then the wind literally dropped, nearly went but it came back but not as strong so took the 137/7.5 and 46, 3 of the 5 counted runs were on the 91 so logged that as kit used. interestingly the c/lockwood sl2 34 is technically too big for the 91 under recomendation but feels bang on not over finned at all and the speed potontial seems really good so look forward to testing this more...just need more wind!! mistral 91 / koncept 5.8 / cl sl2 34 carbon mistral 137 / koncept 7.5 / aquaris pwa4 46 carbon |
