Fangy's with a damn good breeze and a mob of damn good peeps, except Mineral. The sneaky bugger thought I would forget about that he was banned from Fangys because of his 'Magical Munt Fangys Gear' skills. In fact he was right, I did forget right up to the point in time when my boom disintegrated.

Still it was fun for the few minutes before he wove his magic. Which just to add salt into the wound, he did so when I was right up the top end. Some handy Nanna Crochet Skills and I was able to limp home. Thanks to Obi One Tobi who slowed down fractionally from Millenium Falcon Speed to ask if I was ok.

So I narrowly avoided another walk home through the crabs, but that was probably not enough to make it a TTF day. But I reckon for just about everyone else it will be and that my friends does get it over the line.Top Ten Fangy Day Laughing

Now does anyone have a boom for sale?

Novara. It was today or never, long time since I've had an alpha PB, it was a good 2 days leading up to it, good training stronger every day, today felt like the fastest gybing i've ever done (4 x 26kt alphas), conditions were a solid 20 to 25 kt seabreeze, dead flat water (Cheating) in Alphaland (Thanx again Tom Maj, top job on the alpha markers).  Expect to see some good speeds and PB;s today if people went to Fangy's or Liptons, apparently Safety Bay was ballistic!!

Not sure I can do much better than today, was on my limits, I doubt the 27Kt Alpha Club will ever be open to me, but ya never know? and never say neverCool, except sometimesWink

A top 100 Franga day, if only to share Mike's Nm and be the first to stare into his sparkling eyes, good onya mate and good to show me I have another 10 years before I peak Cool

Besides sharing the stoke of Decrepits Pb I had a great day also, not so many K's today a bit worn out, not used to it. I had some good drag races but still getting creamed on the downwinders but loving this place for the windsurfing and people Cool

Normally I hang around till sunset talking crap but got the urge to go home to lovely wife for some reds and the promise of spaget Tongue out

The wind came in abit late in the arvo, but it came in good. Was a bit shaken, but not stirred, at the start but settled in

for two hrs of fun out at "funjees"!!!

Had the old slalom52 with ka kon5.8 and the demo delta sla19 for stability.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's better!!!! As Fangy says a top 10 day.

Anenometer said very similar to yesterday, so I rigged the 5.8 instead of the 5.4, and had another go with the 43, this time I used the 18cm 50deg S assy.

Worked a treat, it's a bit harder to get going in the shallows, but I think it's faster downwind. cause this is my fastest in the estuary outside Creery's lagoon, and it'a a PB NM. I'm sure the 2015 Koncept has something to do with it as well.

Lots of fun screaming around with Firie, this time he only went past me once.

Another great day with lots of sailors on the water, plenty of wind and flat water.

Only down side, the phone told me I had a 37+ 2sec and the GW52's max speed was 27.7, so I was inclined to believe it, should know better by now.

SBay at my local first, full lited on the 5.0RS, thought I could do something there, but got stocked on the bar.. outhere was epic.. about 28knts, did not even got a run!! look the watch 16.00.. thought stuff this.. packed the gear rush down to Fangyss, I was still dreaming of thoses long legs Kiss ah ah ah

Fangys, el Capo was all excited, he had some bloody good numbers, and was putting a bit of pressure on me for back up ah ah ah Laughing

I say, I see what I can do.. the usual supects was there smoking the runs, looked just good enough the 47.. so used same gear as yesterday, smaller board. Going to need a better fin, I hit the wall at 38, got lifted wiz it few time!!

Not fully powered, but thats was just greeeeat doing those runs, only time for 6 legs, the last one my leg was burning so much, I call it, no need to be greedy Wink. I had 3x 35 NM and 3x 34s, my best speed was the first one, then the wind backed a touch..short session, still bloody fantastic

Like I said yesterday, this place is the nauthy spot Wink, happy wiz a PB Cool

note: I came in Salty was going nuts, I left and he was still going nuts, this guy is on something.. what ever it is.. I want some Tongue out

What the hell, I have just got home and I have just seen the scores! Guys, guys, not so many PBs here please. I don't want the word to get out that it's a halfway decent spot. But since you have all buggered it up now I suppose I will have to go against my better nature and offer some congrats. Firstly Hardlybent that is just 'ken epic cornering. The Alphameister has raised the bar to new heights. Fairybell two PBs in one day and both flipping smoking. I am stoked your stay here is turning out to be one sweet session. Gonna have to change it back to FlyinFin now Pas! Good stuff mate:-) Cap'n that is almost unbelievable - holy crap! That fast over a NM! Warmest congrats buddy :-) And then came Sammy with another NM that defies belief. I am lost for words : bloody hell that's fast Sammy-huge respect! Smashing it guys!!

For Ado .. the NM at Fangy is waaaay easier that LG, I sailed LG for 3 years.. the day you done your PB I was there I remember, even gave you some tips Wink on the run, mine was only 35.3.Cry . Fangy It knees high water, the weeds sit just below which is what you want, otherwise there is too much drag! I stay away from the glossy patches, I have only 45 deg rake

Everyone uses thoses ultra Delta.. I use a home made 21/45 deg with max area. the reason why my Alphas look so good! Embarassed (I Will have to get a better fin I think)

If you dont have the above min speed, you dont pass the turns. And for the start up is the same with a 45, you need to be powered to clear the weed at the start. its not that easy to go up wind unless you have the correct fin, but the way down is breath taking, after it all depend how much you can hold it Tongue out. Oooh yeah before I forget, I  the NMs in mini chops, not in the glossy stuff. no need to explain why Wink

But maaaan I still dream of thoses long legs, the best NM spot I ever sailed. And the beauty of it, you dont have to worry about 2S, 5x its all in 1 package CoolCool. So just go for 5 NMs and few A and your done Wink. I only sailed it once last year and 2-3 time this year

The + in comparaison, is you dont have to worry too much a rock garden like LG, which was the very dangerous part of it, there is few bit here and there, but it never worried me!

Last year despit the water LG conditions The Perks, found a new line (which I missed the day Yell) run was very risky but if planned properly even Daffy went for it... needed small as possible fin, where they used a 19. they cleaned it that day, cannot remember the nbs, but was really good.

I would say that ANYONE can do PBs at Fangy NO exceptions the run is easy as. If you dont, you not trying hard enough Wink. Stroppo has done 38 I think, and we was talking about doing a 40, which in this conditions with a 25-28knts wind is possible. I wld be happy wiz a 38.. even a 37.

I want some moooooooore

Decrepit

WA

Ado I mainly agree with Sam, it's a fantastic NM run at the moment, but I prefer to use 50-55deg fins and go in the smoooth. The weed here is a bit different to LG, as Sam says to get it really mirror smooth, (the board just makes a "shhhhhhhhhhh" sound) the weed is right on the surface, sometimes above and bent over downwind. A 45deg fin is quite draggy in it, but if that's all you've got you need to sit out a bit further in small chop, where the weed is more under the surface.

Yes there are rocks around especially in the smooth, where Sam sails, out a bit it's fairly clear.

Tricky, Sam arrived very late, as the wind was starting to die, he was concentrating on NMs before he ran out of light and wind. And a great jobe he made of it!
