Second drive to Primbee for the day but it was worth the trip. The WNW'r was very on and off which made it hard to be in the right place at the right time but get on a gust it was a great. Just had to be careful running into the very shallow water.

Didnt have my hopes up (MUCH) after 3hour wait we finally got into it. Had a good blast on the JP Slalom then dared to grab the big speed board. Only got a couple more knots out of it though. Still dont have the right fin for it, over sailed, under finned, but still had some fun with it. Super shallow!!! More sand in my shorts than a preschooler at a sandpit tea party Yell

Lots of anticipation as to whether this westerly would actually happen, thankfully it eventually did. Very shallow water though with the low tide and too hairy for any decent bear-aways but the fin will still need some sand-papering. Great to catch up with everyone again hopefully there are many more westerlies to come this season. See you down there next time.

Lake Illawarra, NSW, AU NE to NW to W

I sailed from the club today as I wanted to try a few things on the raceboard. A fairly inconclusive raceboard session cut short by the arrival of the westerly, so I was back to shore to change to the slalom kit. This is the first real go on this combo. I had to sail beyond the poles and green buoys as the water was shallow further in with lots of weed to catch. The kit was very nice, with a good balance - these slalom boards really do go better with a good slalom fin! I finished up the session changing over to a weed fin to sail in a bit smoother water, but no bear aways today. A quiet session after nearly a month off.

I was sorry to miss the Primbee crew - its just how it worked out.
