hoppybogan (25813km): Stansbury, SA, AU 20-30 knots Northerly Made the mistake of only taking the 102 and 6.6 combo and was done after only half an hour. Searched for some flat but there wasn't any and the bearaways were scary. Stacked it on one gybe and put the hook through the sail near the mast. Tide was too high today. Was good fun! Had company on the water, which was good but with the wind only getting stronger we called it quits. cheers
mikewho (2720km): boggy lake 15/20nw with gusts, 118l tabou 7.5od was a ok session bloody cold 50mins was enough, thanks for hot cuppa from chris, jeff and gary turned up also, most of wind was in the nw corner, which made it hard to get back to launch site.
Retired Bogan (6747km): Arrived about 1.00, Mike was already on the water and I reckon he got the best of it. I went out on 6.5, with the Exercet 58 and had one great run to the weeds and on the way back it dropped out and I had to walk back and put the 6.5 on the 136 L JP. The wind at either end of the lake was like two totally different weather patterns needed a big board to leave the launch area in 10k then when you got to a couple of hundred metres out it ramped up to 18-20 which made it hard to handle the 6.5 on a big board.Must be stupid to go sailing in such cold condition, but still better than working |
