Arrived early but took me almost 2 hours before I was ready. My upper batten had too much tension and I lost the screw somewhere in my sail after some probs with my extension, so needed to derig and rig my sail again and again... It was the first time with my 7.8 (apart from yesterday on the tandem) and it has a very deep profile...much deeper then the 2016 7.8 from Dirk on the same mast (I use no spacers...). Leaps of power on the water, 7.0 would do as well for me most of the times.

Tested a Select Vmax 31 from Dennis and compared it to my Select Crossfire 31. The Vmax is probably a bit faster, but had a few spinouts (especially upwind, low speed). The Crossfire is a more allround speedfin which gives you the confidence you need all the time. If you aim for the highest speed possible, the Vmax is probably a better choice.

Nice topspeed for me with 7.8.

Nice morning session with many friends...

Fun fun fun.

Nice to be on the water again, after my injury, with a lot of friends !

Slalom and half-wind speeds are great with this big gear, but still need to find the fifth gear downwind.

First test of the Vmax 4.0 39cm. The only thing I can say is that I'm very happy with the overal performance of the fin. Tested it in low and medium windrange in chop and flat water. This fin gives the board a constant and nice lift, so I only have to focus on the water surface and the gusts. Because of this my board stays 'locked' all the time.

I'm so happy because the fin just does what you expect it to do. Upwind, downwind, power after the jibe and no spin-out all day. Just a very good slalom fin (very good control in chop!) and that's what I was looking for. Only negative thing is the upwind capability with low wind, but with some trim adjustments this surely can be fixed.

Nice 100km+ session.
