Quick splash after my study discipline was corrupted by Captain Calm. Nothing special, but a bit of exercise in the sun. :-)

Think I made the wrong call, the seabreeze is now in and it looks better than the SE did at 0900 this morning.

It was all over the place, 10 to 12kts , then 15 to 19kts, so plugged the 6.6 into the 65 with the 21cm 50d, then Fangy and I went grovelling for quite a while, got a few planing runs, but not powered up. The Fin then comes out, a run later Fangy goes in and WHOOO Hoo! Off we go, nicely powered for a whole 15mins, thought I'd even got a decent alpha, but I went much too wide.

Thanks for the sacrifice Fangy that made the day worth while!

Fabulous after work sail, that's the second time this week the black dog has desperately tried to talk me out of windsurfing, and each time I managed to fight off the K9 beast, and felt fantastic afterwardsCool.  CA Slalom 74/122  , TR9 7m, Pepeweed 29/48

I got that breeze in the last 100metres before getting in - I was soooo tempted to turn around and charge back down again. Pretty chuffed that I managed to put study first and resist. And yes seabreeze is pretty nice here now Yell

Think we should have waited for the breeze and sailed with hardie! That's what looking at willyweather does to you.

Good to hear the sun is coming out to play even if the wind isn't quite ready to join it yet. Any chance of a Seabreeze up your way with the Sunny weekend forecast?

WooHoo Toby, that's good going there Cool

Two things, even though I knew you would get the 30 easy, you're not allowed to go faster than me on that board, and the price has gone up Laughing

I guess it'll be fast food for you now WinkLaughing

Great stuff Toby!!!!!!!

Not sure what's in between you and shark bay, but if you're going that far south, Boobbay (the next bay up from shell beach) has a good speed strip at lowish tides. Some of us may be going up beginning next month.

Tribal fins have a good reputation, if you're coming to Mandurah a weedy would also come in handy.

Toby mate I got my 2nd best speed on that board at Green Island using a 30cm Venom slalom fin and a 5.8 Loft Swichblabe and my best speed same sail was with a 27cm Delta speed fin at Lake George. Last few sails on that board had been using a 27 Tribal weed speed, that's what I was using at Sandy Bay when you had a go. I'm now thinking no need for my Venom or Delta as the Tribal works so nice. Chase down Chris Lockwood when south, he designed the Tribals and has a heap in his car. The real shallow/weedy water in the Mandurah inlet is an other story, speak to Decrepit or Fang. I didn't use the 58 in the real shallow stuff in the inlet because I needed a bit of floatation to get going Embarassed

Mate so hope you're still around when I get back Cool

Toby, if its proper Cheech and Chong weed when you get here, I will be able to sort you out with a steep rake fin for you use when you are here.Cool

Toby, do you mean touching base with the mob when you are here or burning old kit as a sacrifice to Huey?

Great pb's Toby. Just wait until you hit the Mob's home turf in the estuary. Flat water and warped minds...it's all there. You can learn the Crab Chuffle prior to taking off as an extra.

"proper Cheech and Chong weed" Fangy....rofl.....I miss you guys already...but only a little tiny bit.

I hope to get on the water this weekend here on the Gold Coast but it's V8  race weekend so the water traffic will be huge. Not much flat stuff I'm guessing.  Watch this space.

Great work on the PB's Toby, especially the Alpha in chop. I struggle to do that number in the flat.

Toby when you get down to Mandurah/Perth if the wind dies on the west coast, check what is forecast for Albany as there may be wind down here. You'll need a Delta, long wettie & warm clothes for sailing down here though...

Toby if we have thick weed, we will introduce you to the weird world of 55degree rake fins where everything you learnt previously about fins gets fed through a thick haze of weed smoke and comes out all Sergant Peppers. If the weed isn't thick, yep, a 27 would be ample :-)
