Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

well..well... Wayne Sue and at the end Johnny went on a hunt for the few gusts. lt was still better than staying on the shore but JUST.Used the 90L and the 7m as thats all i have other than the 120L board..100-110L would have been a lot better but l dont have anything between the 2 extremes as yet! Maybe for xmas?!?!

Good to see Sue back on the water and she still has the moves. She got going when a gust hit which wasnt often unfortunatelly.

5-16kts SSE Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- 6.4m Naish Bullit - 115 Xcross + 19 delta

 then 90ltre RS2 + 6.4m + 20cm delta

Pre break I would have been on the 7.8m and 90ltre board but I will work my way back there as I get fitter etc.

My 1st sail back since I broke my ankle in May. I was out there about 1.30hrs but I forgot to put my GPS on! I went in at the end to just get one run on it and the speed was preety lousy so I probably didn't miss much! No bearaways.

The ankles been pretty good lately but 4am this am I needed painkillers and driving down it was 7-8/10 pain..I almost didn't go out but rang my chiro and she said it's structurally ok so if I'm there go out..

Worse bit was hobbling around the shore rigging. It wasn't too bad sailing. I rigged small not wanting to plane but then got a gust and got going and I was keen for more.Tongue out

Started with the big board and was relieved to get every gybe and even a few ok ones ( not enough wind to plane through). Phew I thought I would have forgotten. I have a few bad habits to tidy up. It was pretty gusty but after getting some decent gusts in the flats I decided to try the RS2 as it planes much easier. Stuffed a few gybes but got one good one.

Unfortunately by the time I got back out the gusts were few and far between. I got caught out with some lulls and fell in , managed beach + waterstarts. It was probably lucky it was gusty as I wasn't in the straps a lot but I got locked down a few times and it felt great! I even managed to tip the leeward rail which was something I thought I might have trouble with..Probably a pretty average session for everyone else but after 6 months off there were a few yodells when I got going...Tongue outTongue out

Looks like walking is going to be the last thing to come good ankle wise which makes sense as that was how I did it.Frown

Starting to seize up now so I better do my exercises or I won't be able to move tomorrow! Thanks Tibor for taking the photo record. Wayne & Tibor out and Milsy at the end. It was lovely to see you all again.

Great to see that you are back on the water Sue, One thing to remember though is that you are a member of the Lake Macquarie team, that means you need to sail in Lake Mac, at least some of the time Smile.

Thanks everyone! Once my fitness and gybes improves Andrew I sail off Coal in light winds . Thats why I bought the 7m NCX I haven't rigged yet..Embarassed

Mick I turned my GPS on , put it in the aquapak and then forgot to put it on my arm..Undecided Usually that would really annoy me but I was just glad to get on the water..I'm last in the girls this month...Cool
