Wake up call 5.15 and in the car with Maree heading to Budgy , forcast is awesome gale warning and the lake is in great condition , arrived at Peel st no one there so headed to Buff point and already heeps rigging , wind is gusting to 20 knots and the big guns are rigging 6.3m sails and smaller , forcast to build so rigged the 4.6m ka koncept and 71 litre board for Maree and off she went but the wind eased a fair bit and she was way under done .
I rigged the 6.3m ka race , 71 litre speed patrik and 17cm Kestral fin , the wind did freshen a little but never really kicked in , the lake is so good , weed burgs where massive and sailing over dry weed burgs was a new thing , but the thank good we made the kestral fins so good and easy to use just sailed over the dry Islands of weed and kept on going .
Pulled the pin at 1pm as the man flu had knocked me around and no strength left , heading over the Toukley Bridge at 2pm the Southerly hit in and massive white caps out into the baby , wish we could have stayed and used the wind but not worth getting sicker , really stocked with the conditions and well worth the trip .
Awesome fun with all the locals they always make us feel so welcome .
Maree would have smashed me if she had a 6.2m sail , did so well to get the speeds with such a small kit .
