2422 days ago 1 categories Port Douglas, QLD, AU..Due to lack of interest work was cancelled at lunch time..Wanted to get down the beach for happy hr...Hit the water Just before 3 o'clock on 97lt Isonic and fully pumped 7.3m North rig, with big fin..Was looking at a very lumpy sea and 18 to 20 kts of breeze.Had the tide from hell running all arvo so had to stay hard on the wind the whole time which made going for a blast down wind a 'non event'..I have know interest in struggling back up the beach to get home.. 97Iso made easy work of carving up the chop while being pushed hard up wind with it's nose up and tail down there was some nice ramps out the back to jump off but i tried hard to land as soft as possible..Am getting sick of fixing trashed boards..The plan was to keep the' peddle to the medal' till sundown, without a pit stop, but i snapped a harness line about 3km off shore and that' spoilt all my fun'.. Had to limp back to the beach and drag my' sorry shagged ass' back to the car park, found a broken down haul rope in my bag to make up a dodgy harness line so i could finish session, was a bit annoyed as they were good North harness lines and i wanted to get a full season out of them, should of known that wasn't gunna happen..Guess it was still worth rigging up for..Cheers Ed..
