Second time on the Hydro Foil down at St George River sailing club in a gusty W 5-20 that turned S 10-25

I started on the Maui Sails TR16 7.0 for a try, but after a few runs I realised that I had the sail flapping like a flag, so clearly too large.

Despite having the mast base all the way forward I couldn't keep the nose down, especially with power!

Downsized to my smallest 5.6 Severne Overdrive and tried with the track almost at the back. Comfortable, and didn't nose as much, but still occasionally, especially as speeds increased. Dangerous above 20kt!

Catapults from 1m up at 20kts feel about the same as 30kts at sea level.... Yell

But when up, wow it is SMOOTH!!!!!

I tried a few gybes, but always ended up in the sky.... urgh.

See here for my 1st time.

Thanks for helping me back to my car... haven't done a walk of shame for a while, but I was NOT going to foil in 25ish knots!!!!!!!!!!

Wow just looked at my map... I haven't fallen in that often for a VERY long time. sometimes I didn't make it more than a few meteres, never right the way across the river... but got close towards the middle of the session.
