Hmm - not use what happened there. I was halfway through downloading my GW-52 and the Locosys Utility popped up with the dialog box that download had failed. Me and Windoze are never the best of friends. Unfortunately, I had the Auto clear option ticked, so the utility has dutifully gone ahead and cleared the session. Live and learn, untick the Auto clear Fangy! I guess the auto clear simply allows that part of memory to be rewritten, so the data is still there - anyone got any clues how to access the data or a Windoze cmd line I can use?

No big deal if not do-able, as all you really need to know was that I was way faster, turned harder and lasted longer that 'Ken.

Summary of the days events: The wind was a tad light and chilly. Ian, Joe, 'Ken and I sampled the weedy goodness out from The Hook. The storm had formed up some really dense bergs. Judging by the amount of 'whites of his eyes' visible, Ian had some sphincter moments, Joe logged some frequent-flyer miles around the handlebars and even I had to be a little more circumspect about berg bashing. I initially had given the bergs no respect, and had been bashing as per usual, then after lining up a particularly heavily matted one and getting a more than decent tug on the fin, I too started to be a little more wary.

I had the Barge, Koncept 8.5 and the FangyFin24. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get far enough uphill to join 'Ken who had worked his way right up to the outside bank weedy world. Partly due to not enough power in the 24 at lower speeds to push against the 8.5, and mostly due to my lack of commitment to keep going uphill when a gust came along - I am hopelessly addicted to a bear-away like junkie. The fact that water was pretty nice with some good flat spots sealed the deal and consigned any uphill commitment to the same spot in memory where I store the Captain's team instructions.

Having said that, when 'Ken was telling about his 'shooooooooosh' moments in the smooth, I was a bit annoyed at myself, but hey I was pretty sure I already had several 40 knot runs and at least half a dozen 25 alphas. What a pity I could not get the data off my unit.

Unverifiable Top Ten Fangy Day :-)

Coodanup, WA, AU

Just a bit desperate to get wet. Haven't sailed for over a month I think.  Nice sunny Saturday morning bob around fang land. Fangy himself was there and 2 others, Ian and John I think.  Thought it would be a good chance to have a good look around.  There is a long string of weedburg islands marking out what looks to be a good nautical mile run, but the bergs looked a little impenetrable so I was avoiding them best as I could. Saw john find one that definately stopped his fin.  I think he was using one of those new MUF deltas.

I hung aound a large patch of smooth waiting for a gust. Got planing through it a few times.  All fun while you are above it, but I got distracted and fell in.  On the plus side it was nice and deep, about chest high,  and on the downside it was like  scene from Swamp Thing and I had to sail clear and stop and clear as much as I could.

Dampier, WA, AU  My first windsurf in Dampier, seabreeze about 15 to 20 kts, warm water, 25c felt like 28 in the shallows, a lot of fun.  2 other windsurfers out.  Carbon Art 74/122 TR9 7m Pepeweed 28/48.  Hopefully another seabreeze tomo, then coral bay for a week with seabreezes forecast.  No flat water, but enjoyable lump not washing machine junk. My body definitely prefers the warmth.

Fangy when will you learn to read the instructions? It's loud and clear. UNTICK the auto clear box!

I have a feeling that's the end of that session, the "clear" action takes a while, I think it's really detroying the data.
