Lilacs M91SL TR16 7.0 Pepeweed 27

Low tide sail in the overcast and surprisingly cold easterly.

Good to be on the water with Morts who outsailed me today.

430 mast top top plug broke today. I cannot see how this occurs. Bit disappointed.

Koncept 6.2, JP Slalom 102 + Delta 21

Quick sail with Steve whilst the tide was at it's highest, was still a lot of dragging through the weed once you get past the car parking area.

Had tried to sail yesterday but when I rigged found that I had a broken 3rd batten so spent the day trying to first find a replacement tube in Albany which was a no go, so I now have a bodged job from the old 5.8. Test sailed it today & it worked quite well but could have probably used the 6.8 as the wind was very shifty & up & down.

Good fun if a little chilly but hoping for more of both wind & water over the weekend.

Fangyland with Scott NoMates.

To my mind the FF28 cutdown to 22 is as ugly as a bucket of smashed crabs. Even so, it works brilliantly in conditions like today. I had about 12-13 knots and put the Scissorhand 8.5 on the Barge. Previously I had used the FF 24 with the 8.5 and struggled with my uphill work. Today, if I was planing, I went uphill without having to think about it. I took the fin into the chop, into the shalllows and into the thickest weed. It ticked all the boxes. The only thing I couldnt test was top end behaviour. It is such a chunky beast, I wonder whether it will max out at a relatively low speed...

As for the day; the breeze was a bit light, but blue skies, sunshine, wildlife, boardies and sailing wherever I wanted with the brain in neutral made it one of the nicest sails I have had for a while. Top Ten Fangy Cruise Day. Cool

Slalom training well sort of anyway I had last sailed at safety bay about a month ago and really struggled in the chop however returned tonight and was happy with the improvement. Great fun blasting across the chop downwind and really looking forward to the racing in a couple of weeks. I moved the mast track forwards slightly and it stopped all the tail walking I had been doing previously. Fun session and hoping to be back over the weekend.
