2352 days ago Leighton Beach, WA, AU. Sweet sesh with the boys today. Wind super light to start with and only the foilers (and Nick on his 6.3!!) out at about 2:30 when I arrived. Almost looked like it was going to shut down any minute but, as forecast, it did come in fresh late in the day, maybe around 18kn or so, but just super nice out there either way. Gotta love the ocean sessions!
JJ let me have a go on his foil but the wind had just come up and it scared me. I could waterstart the 6.2, which meant that powering the foil up was no problem. Controlling it was though...First lift and it just launched me right up must have been as high as it could have gone, then just a big upwind nose dive. Hard work but really got a buzz from that - thanks Jon!
Went back to the slalom kit after about 5 mins on the foil, overpowered and not knowing how to control the damn thing. Being back on my gear was like putting on an old favourite shoe. Safe, but I did miss that feeling of being on the edge a little if I'm honest. Learning something new is always a real thrill.
Lunny was cranking on his foil, as was JJ. Really awesome to see in action. Especially when you're sailing right next to them. Andrew was, like me, hanging on the big slalom gear, with a mega fin, which was fast becoming too much to handle. Ken was looking good on both the Patrik and the Futura.
Spent the last half hour just blasting on the big slalom kit, way overpowered, but too lazy to downsize. Nick was on his 6.3 and 98 with a 28 fin by this stage, and smoking. I definitely could have been on the 98/7, probably even the 6.3 by the looks of it.
A cold beer courtesy of Ken to round out a perfect little arvo. Thanks Ken for the beer and to the others for the great company! Stoked.

Nice change of scenery with some fine fellow Pinnaroos and even better scenery with the sun loving beach babes. I had no idea until today that there is a supply problem with the material that they make bikinis from. Those poor girls only get the bare minimum of material to wear for a swim. Glad i got to see this problem for real.
Oh yeah the foiling was good too, and Kennys beer was sensational!

Started with lighter winds today but built up to a solid 18, fun had by all, Lunny and JJ on the foils. Snake, Ken, Andrew and me on slalom kit. Started on the 116 grovelling a little at first but didn't last long as the wind started to fill in. First lit up jibe was a disaster, partly hooked in when I came into the shore break and got flung of the board, 2 battens snapped. Awesome watching the guys on the foils and when the wind got stronger was interesting to see the guys still hanging on. Cold beer kindly supplied by Ken finished of a top day at Leighton.

Started off very light so took JJs offer to try the foil. Was a bit hesitant at first but once i got a bit of flight time everything went silent and I soon realized I would be the next wind foil convert
Wind picked up with gusts up to 18 knots and had some pretty powered up runs. Good to have beers with the crew at the end at the new Pinnaroo home base.

Big Pinna turnout at the beach, a top afternoon .
Was looking grim at first but the wind kicked in to a respectable 15-18 at about 5.
First time I've seen waves at Leighton in a seabreeze.
Craig was flying - super foil speeds for his first Leighton outing.
Kenny and Jake scored nice glides for their first goes on the Naish foil.

Perfect arvo with the Leighton Lads. Marginal at first so rigged the 7.8 and was cruising most of the time in lovely clear blue ocean. Later on it filled in nicely and ended up being over powered. 3 Foils out enjoying the light breeze, Lunny and JJ looking good flying around.
Thanks for the beer Ken.
