Trying out the Manta and 5.5 Race in the  ocean today with better than 20knts blowing, great little session with only Norts and Ken out to brave the conditions. Some scary airbourne moments and then to wind down a small session at Melville catching up with Ben and Lunny.

Manta 61, kar 5.5, WS25

20-26 knots with messy chop at Leighton. Started on the futura and race sail but soon changed to wave gear. Saw Boz go for some white knuckle runs over the horrendous chop on the 61 manta. A good training session for Leeman.

Stopped by Lucky bay afterwards to greet a few pinnas. The flat water looked enticing but the gusty wind not so much.

5.5 tr7 then 4.7 Zone, 97 futura then 96 freestyle, 32 weedster, 23 weed fin

Not a bad session. That weed is really making a come back. Spent most of the time at Wally world weving around a couple of kiters. Thanks Craig for offering to lend me a Tribal weed speed, sorry it cost you so much time having to pry it out of the board again. Good to see Ken, Boz and Geoff.

Hope the alpha score uploads (22.864) which I believ could be a PB.

iSonic 86L then F2 105L, ReflexI 7.0, Caveman fin reboxed into a 31cm weedy then a kinetic reboxed into a 29cm weedy.

A fun  (NOT!) swimming session in Warnbro sound. First run down the bar and had to abort due to a kiter in the way, so pulled out, and headed upwind and out into the bay, only went out a short way and then threw in a gybe and BANG! Mast exploded out of absolutely nowhere. Snapped clean in half, no chance of dogging in and only on the SP47, so started the swim, dragging the gear. For such a short distance, it seemed to take forever! Finally got in, and with some help from Simon, had the gear derigged and carried all back to the car. Oh well, that speed session wasn't to be. Had half of a single run. Yell

Rigged the sonic and the 5.7 and went out to pengos for some bump and jump for the rest of the day. Time to talk to KA about warranty me thinks, that mast had been used about 5 times. Really not filling me with confidence to go out at leighton right now.

SP47/KAR6.3/MXR22 then Sonic85/Ram5.7/FO28

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Windy and choppy.

80L Xfire, 5.4 Koncept, 26 weedy.

Fully powered up in the gusts, was thinking probably could do wiith a smaller sail, then big catapault! Smashed thigh into junction of mast and boom, which really hurt at the time, and twisted wrist which really hurt later. Won't be sailing for a few days.

It looked like a beautiful afternoon for sailing. So annoying to not get out of work until dark.

Congratulations Cannonball, on yet another PB. Those alpha PBs are hard earnt by practice and time on the water.

Good numbers all round.

Bad luck, Jake! Was the 36 knots on that aborted run, or on the Sonic later?

36 was on the aborted run, yeah. Would have been some 38s there for sure earlier on. Oh well.

Ouch, that's bad luck Dave. Hoping for a swift recovery for you. How is the wrist a day later?

That's grim Jake - I'm guessing SDM?

I feel safer with RDMs at Leighton.
