Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU

Sailed with herb to day on Tinaroo. Lanunched from Black gully at about 3:30 in next to no wind. yesterday was much better.  Noemally i wouldnt sail in such light wind but thought I would keep Herb company for the afternoon.  Not a white cap all afternoon. The best breez was at about 4:15 to 4:30  when I managed to get on top of the water.  Isonic 117, 45 fin and Aerotech rapid fire 7.5M

Well it,s been nearly 3 years since I attempted to sail...    just old age and  osteoarthritis...today I decided to at least have a go and shared the Tinaroo water with Ian.    Just wanted to find out if I coiuld get on board etc.    very rusty but determined to do some more.     Cool/Innocent

What a sensational challenge that was today. Finally got a day off from all the family catch up's. Every day, for the past 5 days, its been 20 - 35 knts. Today.....12 -14 at best. Ive just supplied Fangman with a books worth of retorts and sledges.

This place, even today was awesome. Oh, the "SMOOTH". Took some effort to get up into the magic carpet due to a very westerly seabreeze, but we got there in the end. My goodness, its good. Im not telling anyone about this place.......cannot wait to get out there in 20 plus knots.

A huge thank you to Ross for supplying the gear for Boxy and I and the local knowledge in getting of the beach into deeper water.

Great afternoon with Boxy. Used - Fangy's Partybarge (140), 7.5 KA Koncept, FF24

I caught up with Billy and Boxy today. I gotta say, you FNQ blokes have it easy. Billy is just a walking munitions dump of sledging ammo. I have so much material, I don't know where to start! But I will give him credit, he is seriously deadly when killing off a breeze. Laughing

Billy and Boxy : Glad you enjoyed yourself on a breeze less than a blowfly's fart. Next time make sure you get your chariot down here on a decent breeze Laughing

Great effort Herby.....80+ and still giving it a go.....and  in those hit and miss Tinaroo conditions....as Billy said ' Bloody Legend'

Hoping 2018 is a good one for you.

Ian....pitty the wind was a little down from Friday...you had the 7.5 going very well and certainly did a lot better than I did.

Was pleased to hear you made the return  effort and had someone to sail with.

Billy...pleased to hear you have made contact with 'the other side' and  you and Boxy managed a sail in those trying conditions.

Hopefully you get another chance to get out in better/smoother conditions. Have a great holiday.

Probably the last posting for year.....all the very best to all for 2018
