Coal Point, NSW, AU. 6.6 Hucker 110 Naish. Nothing spectacular in the way of speed, underpowered most of the time, but a bit of holiday fun on a hot arvo. Hope you got back safe Andy and Hugo.

CA70 and 7.7m, looked super light but was good fun over at the islands until the storms came. Sadly I was there when the storm came. The wind went west then south and then switched off. Had to wait an hour for the NE to return so I could dog home. Glad I was on the 110 litre.

12-16kts E Coal Point, NSW, AU

 7.5m Gt turbo- RS4 (111ltre) - 38 Makani weedie

Fun! I finally got the big kit session I've waited for all year..Smile Comfortably powered..lousy speeds but great fun factor..Tongue out

The GPS event was good as it gave me confidence and I can now relax and enjoy things. Not much boat traffic , a bit lumpy but flat compared to the weekend. I used to just go over to the sand islands or above the point and do long runs to avoid gybing in the bumps in the middle . Now I know I can it's very freeing as I feel I can go anywhere..Cool .

Love it when you are comfortably powered on the lake as the runs are so long and you seem to go forever..The first run out the boom popped off the mast..Surprised..I thought I must have broken the inhaul but it looked like it had just come off the lip..Undecided..I fixed it in the water but I was a little nervous for a while and set off on my favourite run towards Bolton Pt.  Today was the first time I actually struck consistent wind in that area. Fun! It was so good I thought I'd brave the dead lee off Green Pt and keep going to Marmong but after 10mins of slogging it looked pretty average up there so I turned back. I had a bit more of a play and  then came in before the storm killed it.

I got a 'nice' cut on my shin from the new weed fin...I've heard of people cutting themselves on weedies but have never had it happen before. Off to the drs to day to see if it needs stitches..

Can you sand the trailing edge of a weedy without damaging performance?

Andrew was over the sand islands where he said it was much stronger ( lucky i didn't go all the way across with the big kit..Surprised ) when a storm front came through and killed it ..A bit worried re how he'd get back.

Tony & I then Lajos , Andrew and Hugh.

I have a cut like that on my ankle for the FF24.

Yes you can sand the trailling edge on weed fins a little. Not so sharp is better.

Sounds like I have to go to emergency to get it stitched so maybe just one of those butterflie bandaids will do. I don't fancy sitting around for hours for a cut..Undecided

Mmm boy yep the FF would be lethal! Surprised

Lyds I felt a sting when it happened and I had to sit in the water for about 10 mins sorting out the inhaul so I'm glad I didn't realise I was bleeding..Wink I only noticed it when I finished.
