Melville Beach, WA, AU

quick after work squirt. Quite gusty but full out the back so tried for a naughty. Way to choppy for anything special other then the unintentional attempted forward roll.

Good day on the water. Spent most of my session at Wally world. Was lucky to make it back to Melville when the wind died. Had to do the walk of shame.

Had a number of 32's on the dial then one lucky gust I just hit 35.

Good to see Boz testing his new sail pre Ledge to Lano as well at Anita, Geoff and Andrew.

Very gusty and variable. Rigged two sails: Koncept 5.8m and Gator 6.5m.

Out on Rocket 105 wth 29 speed weed.

UNderpowered in the gusts on 5.8 but well powered up in the big gusts, just not comfortable.

Changed to 6.5 and wind dropped a little. Much better including several fully planing carve gybes which felt great.

Sail change changed the day from dissappointing to great fun.

Good to see Anita, Geoff, Boz, Ben, Tim and Andrew

Another gusty holey rubbish day at Melville that makes me wonder why I bother going there at all. 5 - 20 knots in just as many metres and then back again.

There are only two reasons I go there 1. it is close to home and I am too lazy to drive to Mandurah or Safety Bay after work.

2. the company is good and it was lovely to catch up with Boz, Ben, Ricey, Tim and Geoff

Melville is a lousy place to practice gybes as rarely is there wind all the way around the corner. I only got one gybe that was moderately powered up most of the way (17 knot alpha) but it was too wide.

Used my 5.7 Koncept with an rdm mast for the first time (because I had left the SDM at home). It worked beautifully with some loft cams I had in the car and felt really light and easy. I should use that sail more often.

Go Woody! Keep piling on those PBs!

Lunny, that would have to be your shortest distance ever. Are you saving your energy for the LOC tomorrow?

I had a very short putt around Dutchies but didn't get a chance to upload.

Anita - we had a steady 20 to 25 knots at Dutchies (I rigged a 4.5) and good company there too. Easy going this time of year with tiny waves. A couple of ladies on the water. Might be worth a try :)
