Struggling hanging onto the 6.2 for ages until I realised not enough downhaul. Wind backed off a bit for a very nice sail. Bad luck about the mast Tony CryMaybe you should try Jason's foward roll special? Lonely without Tony so had to follow John around. What happened to the beers John? Frown

Mistral 95m(55 wide), KARace6.3, Clockwood 32

Lured by the prospect of flat water, I headed down to the Gold Coast. Upon arrival it was a solid 18 to 22kts. Rigged the same as Saturday. By the time I hit the water it was 20 to 25. Both the starboard and port runs were interesting to say the least. Getting going in knee high chop. Settling for the run in flat water - all 5 seconds of it, then terror as you run into knee high chop at full tilt, trying to slow down. Got a low 35 on the dial. Came in to change down, but decided just to have a rest and give the 6.3 another go. I concentrated just on the starboard tack, which was easier. I had some great runs with Phil, including a +30kt spin out and a number of +34 runs including the best of the day. The Train  is hectic and fun.

Get with the program Phil, the Wello crew supply the beers at Wello and the Goldie crew supply them at The Train! It was a great sail, I hope I was a good enough Tony substitute. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your footage from today.

Great speeds Phil and John! You made a good duo today on the Train. Pity I found my  good  NP 6.4 batten popped up, for serious repair, so needed to use old crappy 7.0 Gaastra.
Looks like everybody had a chance to do well above 30 on anything that floats. Cool
