Andrew Haigh (48951km): Coal Point, NSW, AU CA70 and 7.0 Blustery southerly. Mostly good fun. Hugh came out for the worst bits!
sboardcrazy (24353km): 10-18kts S Brandon lane then 12-24kts S Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7m OD - RS4 ( 111ltres) - 24cm FF then 87ltre iso - 7m - 24cm FF then 80ltre iso - 20cms FF - 6.6m KA Koncept I was expecting it to be SSE- SE so launched at Brandon and rigged for comfort rather than speed which was a good call early on..Much better than I expected - on the plane most of the time. Pretty flat although not Budgy glass..Out from c 10ish to 2pm.. Decided to risk the 87ltre in the gusty conditions..Drove up to a lane further E of Brandon and it's only a 100m sail across to the shallows..Team leader said not enough to bother cutting from the tracks and the 2 sec was on the water anyway.. I thought I'd be fit after LG but feeling very tired although I did have a 7m up as did Glynn and he said it was getting very strong in the gusts.. The lake level is up but that was good as I could use a decent fin. As long as I was planing or gybed in a gust I didn't bottom out in the shallows. Not much Clearwater at the end when it came in. It was picking up and I was reading 23kt gusts so I went with the smaller board with the 6.6m to cover the patchy conditions..well overpowered with the 6.6m.. and too tired to do more than a few runs..Had an exhilarating run in over 1 ' rolling chop and called it a day . Just in time as a rain shower came and killed it..I was the only one out for the last hr odd.. Everyone else launched at Buff Pt . I saw Glynn , Cluffy? Gareth..+ others zzzzzz
Byron Mcilveen (63644km):
Brightwaters jetty Brand new Exocet RS2 90l, S2 venom 6.3, select V Max33@
first time on new board that was bloody quick here in open lake water with 2 foot plus chop doing that speed was insane.@
spent time adjusting foot straps and trying to dial in. good news I felt a touch more wind it wanted to go quicker.
didnt try for a nautical so over 31 crazy like wise with alpha in big chop.

Greg Kiskarpati (20260km): Harrington, NSW, AU Was hoping for big things today , Forecast looked good tide was good , Started road trip with Walshy at 4 am to make it for low tide , Arrived to see the run was half as long as last time i sailed there . Started picking up and filling in nicely . After 1 run backed off and swung more to the east and was hard work taking off and coming back to the top of the run . ?Nevertheless was a gooud road trip and to to catch up with Mark Jordan .
Steve Walsh (4027km): Harrington, NSW, AU - 20knots of breeze for about 30 minutes and then backed off to 15 unfortunately. Nice road trip with Greg K. Nice to see you on the water again also Mark Jordon. |
