JJ (25827km): Point Walter, WA Gusty 12-20. Good fun experimenting with the tail flex on my new Windtech 64 112L First impressions - composed, slippery, turns super easily - just needed more wind... Tried the 7m on the foil which was surprisingly ok even in the stronger gusts. More fun with smaller sails though. Windtech 64 Simmer 2XC 7m Rocket 34 Naish WS1
remery (5218km): Pelican Point, WA, AU I spent more time talking than sailing. Ran into Lunny who was exploring from the Southside. Man the chop is ugly off Pelican Point. Sometimes coming from the opposite direction to form standing waves.
tailwind (7476km): Point Walter, WA, AU Not that quick but lots of fun. Nice chat after. F Race 120; OD 7.0; Tribal WS 37

Jase (3183km): Majestic Point, WA, AU Launched some time after 4pm and imediately got hit with some solid 25-30kt wind, which I was not expecting, just sheeted out and cruised but was it was so choppy. I find chop and boat slop pretty challenging and it blows my mind to see people bash out those 30kt NMs on the river. futura 97 koncept 6.6 wsp 27
Lunny (42007km): Point Walter, WA, AU Nice arvo session from Attadale up to Peli Pt. Geez it was rough out there. Mistral 137, Reflex6 7.8, Tribal PM 42
Pointman (24946km): Carlisle St, Safety Bay, WA, AU Fun arvo of racing at Safety Bay today. The Sou'easter was a bit holey to begin with and my M137 + 8.4 TR8 + 42 VSW combo was a bit marginal in the first heat, so I upsized to the 9.0 Titan and 44 VSW. I had a ripper heat with this set-up, blitzed the start and I was a good 100m in front of the pack, but I dropped my second gybe and gave up two places for a third Switched back to the 8.4 after that cos the breeeze filled in to 18-22K, and the 9.0 was a handful. I thought the peak speed must have been a spike, but there's an accompanying 32.8 10-sec, so it's legit. I was dropping the hammer approaching the finish line trying to overhaul young Kai (I got him by a couple of board lengths), so I was going flat out, but surprised it was that quick First time I've sailed Safety Bay in a Sou'easter, and it was mint. The breeze was more or less cross-shore, so no safety issues in the event of a breakage (you'd end up at Pengos worst case). Good to know, it was much nicer than the river. Last heat was an all-in start, and it was carnage. I was bearing off to get speed to try and navigate the traffic ahead of me and I cleaned up Claude A big over-the-bars followed, that ripped my harness line completely off the boom, so that was the end of my day. No other damage, so all good. A couple of beers in the clubhouse finished off a fine day of sailing
Ricey (11089km): Pelican Point, WA, AU One of the worst sessions I have had in years. Gusty and variable easterly, lost confidence in the chop, could not gybe, called it a day. 105Rocket, 6.5 Gator, 29SW
Boz (39135km): Point Walter, WA, AU Fun session in some very choppy conditions few Pinnas out enjoying the Easterlies. Manta 61 KAR 6.3
Snickers (12722km): Albany, WA, AU This is half the session i will have to fix the track later. Huge thanks to Morts for the loan of the fin and to Sammy Snail for the advise and making the welcome to Albany a warm one. (it's rather cold on the water) Great location for a sail, soooo much weed. More to follow. iSonic86, Koncept5.8, Morts 26cm 40to45 degree weedy.
Jeff (13294km): Point Walter, WA, AU - 7.1 KARace - Mistall 112 - lovely morning. Good to have chat with JJ and Boz |
