Greenpark huts. Good speed session on the small kit. Not quite the right angle with big holes in the wind down the run. Happy to peak 38+ three times on different parts of the bar.. The wind was every where but on the run. W 44, R6 5.1, Assy st 31

Not the best wind angle and it was gusty. couldn't find any decent gusts although Dan got some, so at least somebody did.

Lyttelton Harbour and Christchurch Estuary later. ..KA72.com has joined both trips together.

Difficult conditions on the harbour, very big shadow on the inside, big gusts up to 30 knots on the otherside where course was set for the races - the wind was well around to northeast with a lot of holes in it. I sailed in just one of the races and missed last gybe in a big gust, managed to finish the course, but then washed down off the incoming tide and had to get towed back - So had to give up the racing cold and exhausted. ..Tabou 108, North 5.5, 40cms Black Project fin.

In the evening there was still plenty of wind and I went for a quick sail on the estuary hoping to push an Alpha over 20 knots - thought I had a chance with two of them on far side of estuary, but not so, came up with a mere 18.8 knots as seen above. ..Been thinking for quite a while now that rate of turn in an Alpha may play almost as large a part as entry speed, either way and most likely on account of both factors dectracting together I seem to be well and truly stuck around 19 knots with Alpha's - and that's proving to be the case with both my boards  ..Falcon 90, North 5.5, 40cms Black Project fin.
