Rathies, NSW, AU. 5.6 then 4.8 Hucker, 110 then 90 Naish then 72 wave board. Crazy session. Lots of wind, big swell, SHARK, weed, plenty of debris. What a blast. Nice to sail with Byron and Hugh. Gents you have my respect, I was powered up on the 4.8 while you are out on 7's, insane.

12-30kts SSE - Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

started 12-20kts then prob 15-30kts later

6.6m KA Koncept - 87ltre iso - 18FF

then 6.6m KA - RS4 - 24FF 1 run

 then 6.2m OD - 87ltre - 18FF 1 run then 19cm carbon delta

Well I wasn't expecting much but it exceeded my expectations and was pretty dismal..Best part of today was getting home..

The guys seemed to be eating it up though..Undecided Cry

Most stacks today than for ages.. felt like a total gumby..Went out with the 6.6m on the 87 and 18 FF.. Hit by a big gust as I entered the flats and went over the front when I ran aground  because I wasn't planing ...up to 20kts in the chop but 5kts with gusts of 20kts in the flats..I couldn't get upwind very well so I decided to change to a bigger board and fin . The plan was to stay out of the flats and have fun..Smile

By the time I got out again I was getting very overpowered in the gusts with the 6.6m and after being backwinded and dumped decided to rig the 6.2m on it and come back out..

Rigged the 6.2m and decided to give the 87ltre and 18cm another go..big spinout and stack and had to swim for the gear so back  in again . I wanted to use the 20cm FF but I'd left it at home so fitted what used to be my favourite delta ( although I've never used it in the isonics)..Back out.. mega gusts.. board getting lifted out of the water..

Massive one came through in the flats and the rig and board with me connected got lifted what felt like 4' in the air and dumped..Pete had his 5m on and said it hit him and he struggled and looked to see what happened when it got me.. Undecided He  said he wasn't enjoying it ..

Decided to try and get back in one piece and call it a day.. Pity as the gust weren't that long but it was fun if you got one in the flats..Still trying to find a fin that survives the chop and stronger winds and is shallow enough for the flats.. LG has spoiled me..Frown

Fanatic 89 falcon thanks walshy, S2 venom 7 and 6.3, select v max 31 and 28.5

That was crazy scary massive chop doing thoses speeds and top speed was on the 7m before it got to windy for that then onto 6.3 and even that ended up being very powered up to the point it lifted me off the water.

We even saw a shark it didnt bother it or us .

good test of equipment today with Hugh and Tony.

Nice speed Andrew.. I think I saw the gust you got it with.. I was trying to start in the crazy gust but by the time I'd managed it had gone..

Sue, I think that was my third fastest run, I could see you trying to get going and I was struggling to work out which side to pass you on. I may have passed you quite close, but I had a clear view.

Yer Matt, Lake Macquarie was on today for sure.

Lyds, I have no idea how people can hold on to 7m in the combination of wind 25-30+ and chop/swell/waves we had on Lake Mac, but somehow the big boys did it today, same location(Rathies) as me on a 4.8. Just nuts.

Amazing speeds Byron! It must have been scary trying a different board in those conditions!
