Coodanup, WA, AU

For an earlier forecast that promised little Hughie really delivered. I was a bit too comfortable with the 5.8 to do much in the way of speed but had a really great sail untill .

That devious Fangster seeing me enjoy myself much too much for his taste sabotaged me by planting a weedburg 5 metres south of the steering wheel mark . This would not normaly be considered usefull information as weedburgs drift.

Not this bastard. Its got concrete foundations and is made of bricks. Honest . I saw the concrete truck driving away. The dismount was instant  inelegant and painfull.

 Still a great day

Fangyland with Pepe,Basil and the sole pesky Pinna to get through the fence, ExteminatorEmery.

Expecting nought but a zephyr, I went big. Barge KA 8.5 and FF28. I paid for it all afternoon, way too much everything.

Highlights of the afternoon;

1 - Pepe attempted fellatio on a cormorant. Cormorant appeared happy, but Pepe complained of the whole exercise smelling of fish.

2 - Basil crashed into the Fin's Concrete SpeedBurg, with entertaining results.

Lowlights:

1 - ExterminatorEmery made it through the fence.

2- I am bloody sore from holding onto all that canvas for so long.

3 - Basil was carving me up.

Got to go and put on a party blouse now. An unexpected Top Ten Fangy Day.

Liptons on the slapper, for the second time this month and wasn't it a lot of funLaughingLaughingLaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing.

Not trying to achieve anything but a smile on the dial

T'was great fun just blasting back and forth across the channel, with the occasional squirt through the MASSIVE weed banks which have taken up residence.

Lots of drags across the gap with everyone doing the full blast lengths today.

T'was even fun dealing with all the chop from the knob brigade in the stink boats.

Maybe not the best session ever, but it was certainly up there somewhere.CoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Fun cruisey session at Liptons. Stretch came in to change down boards, and Lochy from a 7.0 to a 6.0 sail. Didn't look enough for the 5.8 so went with the 6.2, 53 and 20cm @ 55, this combo was great, but after an hour or so wind was picking up, so went in for refreshment and changed to the 48 with 19 @ 55, this was lighter and freeer and increased speed by a knot. But another hour later holes started to develp in the wind, and ever run got slower, so decided to head home, rather than get caught in the channel with no wind and lots of boats.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU. Wasnt blowing much when we left home at Dardanup, but Lachy and I were hanging out for a sail, so we took a gamble and headed north.  It paid off with us arriving at Liptons at noon to a nice breeze, easily enough for a 7.0.  Low tide and lots of weed so I chucked a Delta on the Falcon113, then decided there was enough for the CA52 with my HSM7.3 and I stayed with that.  I flip-flopped between Delta's and a conventional Choco WS28, which was good until the tide dropped further. I have a gap in my quiver, must get a 25-27cm  45-48deg weedy. Not really the best conditions today, but given the time of year, SUPER happy to get a decent sail in today  Smile

Brutal Boobays, up in Shark Bay for Easter w Binny and collect caravan, Measured 25 to 30kts on the beach, water state wind agaisnt tide  =wild chop, First run 31kts, abandoned coz too dangerous.  2nd run I said to myself just imagine you've swallowed a giant cement tablet and go for it, 34.9kts, 3rd run wind even stronger, went for it, wild chop, felt like the fastest I'd ever sailed teeth shaken loose, insides rattled loose, thought that must have been 40kts, looked down at GPS 34.1kts, thats it I called it and sailed home.  Rigged at top of Boobays.  Elites like Stretch, Stroppo, Doddi and Slowboat would've been doing 40's not meEmbarassed.  Binny tried to sail with 4.5m and got blown off the water.   Fave gear Mistral speed 55/95, TR9 6.3m Pepeweed 22/48
