JP HF 135L, NP RSR E6 7.8m, NP RSX MWS.

In hindsight the 7.8m may have been a touch larger than necessary for prolonged, safe flights.Undecided But it was perfect for some more freckle excercise.

In my defense, where we rigged up it was light and offshore, where it was windy was a good 500m away, but as with the rules of the road... that even if you have the right of way, it doesn't pay to argue the point with the truck zeroing in on you.

On the whole the 7.8 wsn't to bad, it was just in the gusts when it wanted take of, probably could have done with the mast track a touch further forward from where it was in the light wind position.

Great fun out there with Stropp who cracked the 25 barrier, a nice pleasant way to spend the arvy.

Good times

Stoked to have sailed every day this month

Brutal Boobays Day 2, decided to go earlier to get some lower water and lighter winds.  Early conditions about 15 to 20 kts buiding all the time.  Water shallower but tide rushing in.  First couple of runs low 35's high 34's, then wind started to pick up to 25kts and water quckly rose and got gnarly, speeds predictably started getting slower.  Towards the end of my session the wind was close but not as strong as the day before but water was lot higher, decided to go for one mad run, it felt brutally fast and the fastest run of the day and i was expecting at least high 30's  but gps reading was only 34.2kts,  Thats it for me, i'm a mere mortal, no point doing an injury, with tail firmly tucked between my legs, I walked in to my car.  BTW for all the Boobays Brats, I rigged and launched from the top of boobays, much easier, no mud, no sail upwind, no mad sail back downwind, will be my new launch if I ever come backEmbarassed.

The question would I ever bother cme back?  Have to be a perfect tide.  Tide Charts to check = Hamelin Pool willweather showing a 0.65 tide around 2.30pm to 4.30pm.  Too brutal for mere mortals like me, maybe the elites can sail when not ideal and go fast but not meEmbarassed.  Same gear as yesterday.  Shark Bay is a great place for a holiday, I will always come back, but purely for speedsailing?  It would want to be epic winds and a perfect tide or why drive 900kms, when I can drive 3.7 kms and sail Liptons?

Yes Elmo, if you'd been there and cracked a faster speed than me I would've had to kept going Embarassed

Nah, wouldn't have happened, more than a day trip, I'll leave that for the dedicated sailors.

Definately not fun and a lot harder sailing on your Pat Malone
